Can you suggest some good dishes I can do with potato? I have 2 pounds of potatoes in my fridge and I want to incorporate them in a potato-centric dish.
How about baked potatoes? Will those taste good with cheese, bacon bits, and a little bit of chives? Or potato salad? Will that be a good dish if I add some pineapple tidbits and other veggies?
Help me out please. :(

hi. i love potatoes too. and i know of a dish but i'm not sure if you'd like it. :)
you can sautee meat (such as pork) in onion, garlic, and tomatoes. then when it's tender add the potatoes (peeled and quartered). you can also add some peas. it really is delicious.

Baked Potatoes are always a great idea. Twice backed potatoes are great too, and cheese and chives add to it. I personally would use real bacon and not bacon bits and add some sour cream. I am not sure about the potato salad. I am not a fan of pineapple. But it is worth a try it could be great!!! You could also do Augratin potatoes those are good too.

Yeah, I only use real bacon. Not those cheap imitation bacon they sell on supermarkets.
And I forgot sour cream! Yes. They're definitely a match. The starchy taste of potato plus the mildly acidic taste of sour cream is a PERFECT combination.
Thanks for the response!

I made cheesey hashbrowns with ham the other night....just shred your potatoes after cooking them and put them in a pan with some chopped ham....add some cream of mushroom soup and a bunch of cheese and bake it until everything is heated through good...they are yummy!

Fried potatoes. Melt butter in a pan. Slice potatoes thinly, cut up an onion or 2 and add, keep stirring. The less butter you use, the more the potatoes get crispy. Add salt to taste. Delicious!
Potato soup. Cut up 2-3 potatoes (bite size pieces), put in pan, add water just to cover, boil. Don't drain the water. When tender, add cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup. To thicken more, mix about 1 T. of flour with the cream of mushroom/celery soup. Cooking an onion with the potatoes adds more flavor. (I'm an onion fan)

Hi inkyuboz, try bar boiling them, preferably in their skins, then roasting them in the oven alongside unpeeled garlic cloves. Only cook the garlic in with them for the last 40 minutes or so. Then press the garlic out of the cloves onto the roasted potatoes. Wonderful.

My dad used to do this for us when we were growing up and my sister and I loved it. Slice some potatoes thinly and then season them and cook them in the microwave until they're crisp. Then season some more if you like.

Try these. Steam them untill cooked. Make some mince with a bit of onion and all the spices you like. Cut the patatoes open, just a bit at the side and fill them with the cooked mince you made, use some cheese, lavishly of course, pop them in a hot oven for about 20 minutes and there you go. You can also take about five patatoes, cook them, mash them, mix them with herbs and spices of your choice. take small blocks of cheese, make a little ball or patty, like meatballs, press the chese in the moddle, close it up nicely and bake or grill them untill golden brown. Enjoy and i hope that was helpfull.
