I want to buy a game console recently. But actuelly i was not a big fan before, so i can not tell the difference between these two game consoles. Can you tell me which one you think is better? At first, I wanted to buy a PS3. But one of my friends told me that Xbox was better. Most every game that you can play with PS3, you can find the same for Xbox. More over, Xbox can get a better image quality than PS3. I do know that PS3 gets a blu-ray drive. Should that be important to my decision? Will the Blu-ray HD films be popular in a short time, for example one or two years? Are there any other differences between these two? Thank you all.

I have an xbox360 and can say that the graphics are great on them. I do believe alot of things will be going to blue-ray soon, and those with out the technology to use it, are going to be out of luck, Owning the xbox and having had it for almost a year, I would say it would be in your best interest to invest in the xbox360 over the psp.

Hi Lydia, It all depends on what your looking. I am an XBOX fan and own a 360. I will say I am also not a Sony fan and would never buy a Play Station. However the main differences are big or small depending on what you do with it. The PS3 does have the more powerful graphics capability, but the pratical difference is very slight at this point because game designers have not entirely caught up with the hardware capabilities. XBOX360 has also far out sold the PS3 and despite there resent redesign and price cut, PS3 is still a distant 3rd in the console wars, and not selling as many units right now as the other two systems. PS3 does have a live service where you can play games, watch movies, and download some other content just like Xbox Live. However Xbox Live is far more established, has more to offer, and has a much larger gaming community than Sony's live service. So it boils down mainly to the games. Most of the popular games will be made for both systems. However if you are a big fan of games that are exclusive to one system or another, than you may want to go with that system. Also keep in mind the new version of the PS3 is not backwards compatible, so you will not be able to buy and play playstation 2 games on it. While with the Xbox360 a simple software update you can get for free on Xbox.com will enable you to play a long list of the original Xbox console games
