Avatar, how spectacular it may seem, still has it flaws, though. For one, watching the movie in all its 3D glory will induce a few eye-rubbing, which is acceptable, since 3D movie technology still isn't perfect. Also, the whole concept behind the movie is done in a fantastic way – so fantastic that some may be turned off thinking the movie is too hard to believe, ruining the whole experience. The storyline is, in some respect, predictable which may not be to the liking of more serious moviegoers.
Overall, Avatar is still a great movie especially for the geeks at heart. It is a visual masterpiece, done with the latest in CGI technology and has a lot of heart, both alien and human. So wear your 3D glasses, sit back, and prepare your eyes for a 2.5-hour visual feast.
The Good: It has grand visual effects, Swashbuckling action scenes, Filled with lessons to live by
The Not So Good: Storyline is a bit "basic", May cause you to rub your eyes late in the film
Bottom Line
If you're looking for a good story filled with love and grand visual effects, then Avatar is for you.

Yes, the avatar i thought was really good. one of the better movies ive seen. had a good plot and a kind of moral of the story to it, that is, idk, greed i guess. its not humane to do what they were doing. i dont want to give anything away if people havnt seen the movie yet, but i'd give it a 8.8/10. the creatures were interesting, and sometimes you have to do what wrong in order to do whats right. but like every movie it had its "yawning parts" like you said, but ya, overall its a great movie

Hello,
I have not watch Avatar and do not plan to watch it. I perferr the Up Movie fromn Walt Disney. Yes, from the previews I saw it does look like for the people who are into graphic art etc... and for the people who do T-shirts to make money from it.
Children should like it because it like dealing with fairies etc.. and unusual creatures they dream about in there dreams.
Thanks and have a great day
Sincerely Unique16

it is true, the story line is kind of disappointing! a bit like the last of mohancan! however, the overall effects were tremendous!! it is indeed a visual masterpiece of the time! i think it meant for those of my generations...which starcraft and warcraft are the trends!!! hahah...it reminded me of warcraft and starcraft

Avatar is a very good movie, i liked it a lot, especially the visual effects. The 3D effects are pretty good and make you feel like you're right there on Pandora. But, despite all this, i think the plot could have been a little better since the ending was kinda predictable. In conclusion i think that Avatar is an excellent movie, one of the best in 2009 and should be seen by anyone.

I just came back from seeing the movie and it was an overall awesome experience! 3D takes getting used to, and to be honest I develop a minor headache. Nothing that a pill won't cure though. :)
It does have a nice message and teaches us a thing or two about our own humanity.

Yes, I was disappointed with the ending too. I was even able to guess it with my boyfriend while we were discussing it as the movie goes on. Guess what? We were right after all. TOO PREDICTABLE. But I still came out of the moviehouse quite satisfied, not only for the spectacle of the movie, but it was beautifully rendered. One of the best films I saw this year and was glad to catch it before the end of 2009.

The storyline is basic because he had that idea 14 years ago. I think the film is great, the scenes are all beautiful, reminds me of final fantasy and world of warcraft, a bit lineage haha. I hope they will make a 3D game for us to play soon, that is way to awesome

I recently saw Avatar in 3D. I'll have to start off by saying that visually, it was nothing short of spectacular. The coloring of the environment and the animals really makes u appreciate the 3D more. True the storyline is a little basic, however it did present good life lessons like you said. Overall I really enjoyed the movie and plan on seeing it again in theatres.
