this morning while driving to work, i was listening to what the DJ was saying about our manners...of our society...especially in Malaysia.
...now, we don't hear much of the words.."thank you", "excuse me", you're welcome" or the magic word "please" anymore....
you don't people holding door for another anymore...it is even a shock if someone would hold a door for me...there was an occasion that while holding a door for some people, they would just stand there...not knowing what to do...!! or letting someone cutting the line because you will betaking your time paying all the items you bought comparing just 2 or 3 items the other person is buying...and after the person walked in front of you....it is a silent...you don't hear "thank you" any more...or even asking someone to help bringing you the paper from the other desk...or stable...there is no please..but more of a demand than asking! or paying bill or after helped by the waiters...you won't hear the customers saying thank you after being helped...or from the waiter...thank you for dining with us...!!
is our manner moved back seat? or it is just Malaysia? what do you feel about it?

It is everywhere, not a particular place. In the old days people would offer someone a hot meal and a place to stay the night, if they had no where to go. Also people used to take people in who had no place to live, as long as they helped out in the house. It is just that everyone seems to care about themselves. Then again, those that do care are cautious because of the selfish people. Nice people don't want to help people if they see them on the side of the road because a few people took advantage of that and saw it as a way to rape, steal, or harm others.
