Scientific inventions have to be a boon. They lead to far more achievements as a result of being invented, then not being invented. Also, they enrich our lives in many ways. I doubt we would be anywhere without a lot of the scientific inventions. While some of them might not be as grand, its mostly for the good of humanity.
