How Much Internet Shopping Do You Do?

Personally, I am a big fan of internet shopping. However, it does help that I am actually at home all the time due to being out of work. For people who are out all day then it can be a bit of a pain to get one of those "Sorry You Were Out" cards from the Royal Mail or equivalent. Then they have to - either - pre-arrange another delivery day or pick the parcel up themselves, which defeats the object of having a postal service, I suppose. The biggest item I ordered on the internet was a hi-fi stand a few years ago! It only took about 3 days to arrive so I was well impressed. One of my favourite sites is Amazon. "Touch wood" I have never had a problem with them. I wanted a book for my brother as it was out of stock in our local bookstore and I ordered it from Amazon at half the RRP. Result! A lot of people have ordered designer goods that were not genuine on other sites but I always use reputable sites, never sites I have never heard of, so I am lucky in that I have received genuine perfume, as an example. As far as food shopping goes we never buy it from websites but I think it is a great idea to do this if you live in rural areas far away from supermarkets. Currently, I am undecided as to whether I should buy boots, perfume or bedlinen over the internet as I can't afford all three with my Christmas money. By the way, I have had bad experiences with eBay and am not the only one. Members of the public are far more devious than "proper" stores in my opinion!

I buy games online, but that's all. Everything else that I need, I go out and buy them myself.

I'd forgotten about the gaming websites I go on! I haven't bought many games online but they are of the instant variety. The type of game whereby I play for free for an hour and if I like it I buy it and the full game activates online for me. I would love to buy Fairy Treasure but will refrain until I find a job, even though it is dirt cheap.

I don't do a lot of Internet shopping at all. I mostly go to stores to buy things, especially when I can't wait a few days for it to arrive at my door. And I am probably too young to buy a lot online, and some stores on the Internet you can simply not trust.

I agree with you Janey. I hate ebay a lot and I don't know why there are still many who prefers ebay.

I tend to use the same sites whenever I buy anything so I know I can trust them. It is better to do that than take "pot luck" so to speak. This is why I don't like eBay because there are some people who use that who - to be frank - steal money off others without any intention of sending them the goods.

I do buy alot of my crafting supplies online but other then that I don't buy much in the way of clothes or books etc..I guess it's just because I don't buy alot of that stuff anyway. I have had good luck with ebay...and the other sites I buy from. So I guess I am lucky!

I am so glad you have had positive experiences with eBay. I suppose if everyone was like me it would all have shut down by now, so good luck to you in the future too. :-)

I usually shop online for buying some apparels, and some interesting collection stuffs. I think online shopping is one of the greatest shopping method since we can easily do it from our desk. Sometimes i also shopping online from my mobile phone internet. Recently i've bought some good apparels and so far i'm quite satisfied with it. I prefer to shop online from some ecommerce sites which locally here, or near with my area so i can save some shipping cost and custom fee. I seldom shop from international site especially from US website since it will cost me more and more on the custom. I don't think if custom tax is a cheap cost. I'm a big shopper so i just want to shop for some common goods. I think if it would be nice if i'm living in US since there's alot of ecommerce sites with good products. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I like to look around in sites like eBay, but I prefer to go out and to see the item before buying ... Especially when I want to buy clothes for me... For my son I've bought clothes few times and I liked the clothes - they were cheap and excellent quality. I also bought some toys from one of our online toy-shops. I would have never bought perfume, boots and food..

Well it's a little difference between buying perfume that you know how it smells and between buying new perfume that you have never smell... I mean that when I said that I prefer not to buy perfume via internet. Congrats for your good purchase.

An example of the internet shopping I get up to; well, last week I was staying at Mum's and this involved shopping in Town. I have some Christmas money and wanted to buy some Jean Paul Gaultier Classique perfume because I really like it. In both Debenhams and Boots a 50ml bottle cost well over £40! Since I came back home I have bought the same perfume on a reputable perfume site for about £7 less, including postage and packing. High street shops really need to get their act together if they want to compete with the internet.
