Okay, so I just found out I'm preggo, and my husband said I should only drink one cup of coffee a day, because it dehydrates the baby. Can anyone tell me their thoughts on this?

Congratulations on finding out you are pregnant that is great news. It cannot dehydrate the baby no but its not good for the baby. I believe the figure is the baby ingests all of what we have that goes through our digestive system and then because of the organs gets 10x the amount of what we have had, so for your one cup of coffee your baby will have 10 cups of coffee.

Midwives say that too much coffee in early pregnancy might cause miscarriage. The most likely time for a miscarriage is between 4 and 12 weeks pregnancy. Coffee is a stimulant and it dehydrates I have heard. It is wide to eat a healthy diet during pregnancy and to do light exercise like walking and swimming. I suggest you limit the amount of coffee. One cup of coffee a day sounds reasonable. I hope that you have a really enjoyable and healthy pregnancy.

Congratulations and well wishes to you and your loved ones. However, your husband is right, you shouldn't drink caffeine while you are pregnant.

Caffeine is not good for you while your pregnant. All of that sugar can actually cause brain retardation when your child is born. It does not dehydrate your baby. Although, he is right that you should moderate how much you are consuming. A cup a day should be fine.
