When I was 8-9 years old,I remember once I heard so many fire engines pass by my apartment building and rushed to a factory area that was full of fire.I could see this from the windows. That was a place where many factories and residential area of the low income families were all in there. The fire was really something that it spread out so quickly and almost two hundred houses including some factories were on fire after an half an hour or so. That was a haunted experience for a kid like me.Have you seen any fire broke out before in front of your eyes and please don't tell me your experience from watching TV or movie.Share with us if you have a real experience.

Yes, I have this year. The neighbors that used to live across from my in-laws had a fire inside of their home. I could not see the fire from the window that I was looking out of. But, the fire department, fire rescue squad and police was all present at this time. It was so much of traffic! And another fire that I witnessed is one that happened to my cousin. Her house burned up just to the front and on the sides. I was not present when her house burned down but I could see the damage that the fire had done. It was so scary. That is the closest that I have seen from a fire.

Hi,wildlittlefan, I witnessed the first fire accident in my life at the same age with you, a bungalow in front of my house fired in one midnight, many dwveller nearby was awake by the sound of shout of and fire, few minutes later the fire engine come and several hours later the fire was stamp out, I can't remember how about the family in the house because I'm just a kid that time. The second time is the tall built fire in another city where I'm working in, it happened at a high floor of the building, and the fire engine needed to hold out the scaling ladder to spurt water. Few minutes later the fire is get down because it's not big.

oh wildlittlefan, seeing a big fire is really terrible especially if its near your house. i have witnessed a lot but the most unforgettable was the one across our house. this made us brought all our things outside for safety if in case the fire cross on the other house which is right next to ours. i cant really explain how my brother and i carried that fridge and move it out to place it away just few meters from the fire without even putting it down! you wont believe me but after the fire, there were four of us carrying the fridge back and it need us 4 times to put it down so we can rest. its true that the adrenaline is different.

Hi there,
Yes, I witness real fire before! But compare to what you have witness, mine one here was just a small case. The first ever fire I witness was when I was 8-9 years old, happen at the mid night, where the fire was on a wooden house in the neighbourhood, I could not remember that much but for me the fire of course is scary, more ever happen during the night time. Seeing the fire and smoke in the sky, I felt so scared.
The second fire I witness was happen 3 years ago. My condominium Sauna room was on fire and the sauna room is situated near my kitchen. It was happen about 12am . Me and my husband were sleeping and suddenly we heard people shouting fire ! We do not know what was happen but when we come to the kitchen I could see the fire at the sauna room. It was so near to my house and I was so shock! We then quickly get out of the house and at the same time we inform the neighbour next to us. The fire was then put out by fire engine and the sauna room had abandon about 1 year and now it is renovated .

hi wildlittlefan,
Saw a fire on some food stalls beside the main road couple of months ago.Its nothing particular about the food stall's fire. The real thing are its location because its situated just below some live electricity cables which are hanging above.
By the time my car passed by,i can see big sparks emitted from the live cables. The intensity of the sparks are very bright,it blinded my eyes for a second. Some cables are broken while dangling just above while emitting sparks in every direction.
Though no one injured but witnessing it makes me think twice about walking near power cables.

I've witnessed a couple up close. One was so close, it was actually in the field that I live on. My house wasn't in danger, but my landlord's house was right next to the fire! Fortunately the fire missed their house.
The other fire was actually across the street a little ways. But it was still close enough to see the flames. They had a helicopter help put out this fire, which can be seen in the picture below, if it works, that is.
Happy mylotting!

It was more than ten years ago during our Spring Festival when I was walking together with my family, we saw a street shop on fire with very heavy smoke. There came fire brigade managing to put off the big fire. During the fire, a man was seen to jump down from one balcony to another and got hurt with blood all over. This was the case I witnessed. I think that it is very terrible to have a fire event as it causes danger and loss to people and property. It is our duty to always take good care of using electricity and fire properly.

Nope I've never been near a fire while it was occuring. Fire is certainly a scary event for those involved in those who witnessing it. Really the closest would be if the neighbors are burning brush (or we are) or the party animal renters at the end of the block are having a party

Yes, I have but luckily the firefighters came and put it out really quick. It was actually my neighbor's house that caught on fire. To this day we still don't know what the cause was. It wasn't the electrical wiring or anything because they pried the side of the house open and everything was intact. Anyways, we were scrambling to get all the stuff out of the corner bedroom where the fire was. Nothing was lost which was a really good thing. There was just a lot of smoke.
Fire season during the summer is one of the most horrible things where I live. The city where I live is close to the mountains and forest fires break out every year during the summer. It doesn't help that it's so hot and dry during that time of year. A few years ago, there was a major forest fire in my area. It was less than 10 miles away from my home. The fire was also spreading quickly due to the dry winds we were having. It was so bad that the sun was blaring red and you could see ashes floating everywhere. It got to the point where the ash was as thick as fog. You couldn't even go outside for a long time because your eyes got all dry and red really quick. Add that to 110+ degree weather everyday and you get a really uncomfortable situation. The whole city was on alert for a few months because they weren't sure if the fire would reach us. I was kind of scared because it was my first year living in this city and this was completely new to me. I've heard of forest fires in the area before but none was so close to home.

My Dad has a shop that he does woodwork in. It caught fire one day, when there was someone burning nearby and eventually something caught in the wind. Needless to say it caught. Thankfully it was put out before too much damage was so far. This was about ten or fifteen years ago but that was my experience regarding fire.
