Regardless of what your religion is, did you believe in the power of prayer? I definitely believe it. But what I believe is that you need to try your best with the best effort before you ask God to fulfilled your prayer for that. Did you believe in that too?

personally I don't if I am honest,
I would like to think that I am the one ultimately that controls my own actions and my own future.
Same as everybody on the planet they can be the only one to control their life.
If there is somebody who is contolling us or can influence our lives then I find that disturbing to be honest
as it would mean I am no longer in control of my own destiny.
Plus any prayers I have done in my younger days have never been answered and have lost loved ones and had family crisis which have never been resolved.

Hello. God don't directly answer our prayers. He might not give what you want but still he find ways to answer your prayers. God is wise so sometimes he give us opposite of what we want in able us to learn and understand what he want us to understand. God only give us what we really need in life but often we are too blind to see and appreciate all those things.
I've been in your situation and doubted if He really exist and hear our prayers... I start questioning Him and i realized and asked my self "have i listen to Him???" I keep praying but never tried listening to HIM. I guess you should try accepting Him back to your heart. He's really there waiting for us to ask help and to listen to Him. I know He answered your prayers but you haven't notice it. The answers to your questions are already there, you just need to do extra effort to see it. Appreciate life and you'll find the answers.

well if there is a divine power mapping our lives out then we are puppets and whats the point in living,
as life is an adventure what I do today will mould my life tomorrow I dont really want to do something today and then somebody else decides what then happens tomorrow doesn't seem right to me.
I respect everybodies views and I appreciate life and live life the way I think it should be lived but at the same token I have lost family members in the past and had awful family crisis's
so no one has answered any of my prayers and all I get is god works in mysterious ways to me that seems a bit of a cop out if you know where I am coming from
so I like to be in control of my own destiny and if I don't succees in life I only have one person to blame me, or if I succeed in life then again its me thats got me there.

You got a very strong self confidence for saying that benny. :-) In a way I agreed with you that the power of our own body and mind can actually control our life regardless whether cautiously or incautiously. But wouldn't it be better if a divine power help you to ease your goals? Perhaps what happen to you in the past might had influence your opinion on that but I respect you for that. At the same time, if we never gave up on our prayers with all the effort, I'm quite sure it might just work. Thanks for sharing Benny. Happy mylotting.

Yes, I believe in prayer. Prayer is talking to God, the Holy Spirit, you have to have faith in God and have a relationship with Him. To believe in prayer you have to receive faith according to your faith not someone else's faith. And believe the word of God in faith and act on it. You can't expect the fruit of God's blessings if you don't recognize the importantance of doing your part.

Yes I do believe in the power of prayer and sincere prayers do help us a lot and all of us are aware that God helps those who help themselves so we cannot put the total task of what we pray for on god.

YES i do believe in prayer. In prayer mean is you are close to GOD, you request something to GOD. If we prayer and request something to GOD, GOD must answer and give it to us. but sometime the people forget to prayer and not remember their GOD, so GOD not give anything what we wish for. And it can make that people angry to GOD and give request " Why He gave me such life issues like this?" ( that problem people cannot handle). So Prayer is the cure for any problem in life. But beside we pray we must also try to get what we wish for in life. So this world is all about cause and affect.

Power of prayer is deeply linked with our thoughts and willpower.
I believe in god and prayers.
In india we call like :"khudi ko kar buland itna ki khuda bhi bande se puche , bata teri raza kya hai"
This means that: Make your determination and efforts so focussed that even god asks you to tell your aim.

When we put our effort for the best result of everything, we indirectly leave it our fate ie Godwilling that it will come to what we want. Thats the whole idea of prayer in a way for me on top of our special prayers on certain things directly. Thanks for sharing cher. Happy mylotting, and may God bless you. :-)

Hello there. Yes, I do believed that prayers are powerful than anything else. Prayers will only become powerful if your prayers are from the heart. If you believe in Him and pray from your soul He will hear you. God will help you from your needs but you have to do your part also. I've been tested by HIM and almost all the trials was given to me i cry and ask for His help, he answered all my prayers and helped me to release all those heavy loads on my shoulder. So i believed that prayers are powerful.

I conform with you that trying your best in your plans with a partner of prayers are best.
You can feel the way how God really works for yourself. You can see his generosity and blessings for you. God really works mysteriously. When he work for your wishes to be granted. You will see his divine guidance going towards you and you will be relieved from worrying any troubles. You will feel much better and stronger than before you recognized him.
As the saying goes " Do your best and God will handle the rest"..

I'm not a super religious type of person but I believe in the power prayer and I believe that if we are sincere in what we are asking for God maybe sometimes he will not answer our prayer in an instant but he will give what we are asking from him in the right time. I also pray because I want to thank him in every blessing he gave to me. There are also times that he not give what we are asking from him but he still have a good reason why he did it.
