Well it wasn't enough that we got well over a foot of snow in the four days surrounding Christmas but now we have an artic blast....right now at 3p.m. the high for today is -6....two days ago when I got up to go to work it was -25.....I don't mind telling you that I am already getting sick of winter. I can stand the snow...don't mind that at all....but this cold! What is it about winter you don't like.....is it the snow? Cold? Dry air?

We're getting similar weather, although right now we've got probably about 3 feet. I've heard by Thursday it will be back up to almost 30 degrees, yay!
Normally I love winter. I'm not a huge fat of heat and humidity. Not sure why this year is so different, maybe because I wasn't prepared for it yet (3 of my kids still don't have snowpants, and 2 still don't have boots). I am not loving the snow or the cold right now. My car needs new tires, so driving in the snow hasn't been fun lately.
Yep, I'm looking forward to spring... so much less to prepare for then!

You are having colder weather than we are right now. It's below zero today figuring in the windchill. We haven't had any snow to amount to anything yet but the prediction is for snow Wed. night into Thursday just in time to ruin the rush hour traffic. I love the snow as long as it's not slick out. In other words it's great to see it only on the lawns and trees. Hmm, wonder how I can order that kind of snow? I will be out in it Thurs. morning trying to get home from our daughter's house. If it's too slick, will stay another night and leave on Friday. They don't know that grandma is coming to stay for 2 days instead of one. Surprise for our son-in-law..lol The dry air this winter is giving me a bad case of the itchies. My back is miserable. The cold today is beyond cold. The wind is whipping around. We keep our kitchen cabinet doors open in this kind of weather since the pipes sit on an outside wall. I wrapped them several years ago but it didn't help. Sometime I turn on a "trouble light" which is warm and aim it towards the pipes also. Anything to try to help keep a pipe from bursting.
Keep warm,
carolbee

A short winter would be great. I am leaving in the morning to go babysit our grandbaby and probably won't be able to get back home until Fri. if we get that heavy snow. I go back Fri. night again to sit all night. They are keeping me busy which will make the winter zoom through here and leave faster, I hope!

I don't like that winter is so short. This is great.
We're in Minnesota after all. Get used to it I say.
I am dealing with it as well. A furnace that works, a blanket
to bundle up in, and a hot cocoa or coffee is all I need.

It is freezing cold here as well...we don't have too awful much snow but it has been blowing and drifting for the last 3 or 4 days and that just makes a whole ton colder because the snow that is on the roofs blows down and hits you right in the face. We did nothing this weekend but stay in the house and literally cuddle on the couch. We have about a foot of snow and they are calling for about another 2 or 3 by the end of the week and it is suppose to get even colder....I am so ready for summer. I am tired of being so cold and having to shovel so much...

It hasn't been that cold here lately, but we've had ours, too. We're supposed to get another snow Wednesday and some pretty cold temperatures. Lots of snow, though... yesterday, they predicted cloudy in the morning, then "mostly cloudy" in the afternoon. It snowed both morning and afternoon.

I would have to say that I do not like the really cold or the ice and freezing rain. Try to stay warm, that is way too cold for me. We are getting a little snow, and the temps are in the 20's during the day.

Hi Jill, I don't like the winter anymore after the holidays, haha. I only like it up to the first week in January and then I'm done. Can't wait for spring to arrive with the birds chirping up a storm, days with more light, buds on the trees, and opening the windows...ahhh.
I live in Ohio on the outskirts of Cleveland, and its been snowing up a storm all night and all day, yuk. In one sense I'm glad I'm not working so I don't have to go out in this mess, but I'm certainly not wishing it upon myself just in case someone out there HEARS ME!!!, haha.
It seems the older I get the more I dislike winter and the snow, blah!

I don't like any of it. Cold, snow, dry air, and of it.....
When I checked a few hours ago it was 3 with the wind chill. I just checked a second ago and it is now -6 with the wind chill. We don't have any snow as of right now, but we are supposed to get some in the next few days. Hopefully not very much.

Hey jill! I'm with you for sure! I hate this damn cold! I can't
take it already and it just started! We don't have much snow,
but we do have some really cold temps, and they're not even
as cold as yours right now! The heat went off last night in
my apartment and I thought I was going to die! I went into my
bed at 9:30PM, just to get under the comforter! That's how
cold it was! I never go to bed that early, but I just couldn't
stand the cold! It was 19 degrees outside and beyond that inside!
I went to bed with a sweatshirt and a hoody with the hood up!

Hi jillhill, last winter was the worst rain here for over thirty years and when the wind was up with it at the same time it got really cold. The worst part though was that the rain was so constant, day after day, that it just felt damp the whole time. There were days it was impossible to open the shutters so most of the houses ended up getting damp inside with the lovely addition of mould. So far the damp has kept away this winter and it seems to be much milder than usual, just hoping it lasts.

Here in Sacramento it doesn't get that cold and it rarely snows, but what I dislike is when it rains for days on end. When it's not raining I like to get a daily walk, to the lake when it's a work day, and I don't like walking in the rain (especially pouring rain).

BRRRRRRR, that is not a very big high. I wouldn't like that either especially if i had to get out in it. I just called to see what the temp is here & it was 24. We haven't had any snow yet & i hope we don't. I hate snow. I can stand the cold if the sun is shining. Made a big pot of soup today, wish i could share it w/u. Have a good night.

We still have a little bit of snow now and we are suppose to be getting some of the cold weather for the next four days. We may get about 2 or 3 inches of new snow but that it about it so they say. I do not like the real cold air I do like the snow but could do without the negative temperatures.
