It's Snowing...Again!

It really is turning into quite a winter here in the UK. Just heard on the news that the gas supplies may be running low. Oh, dear...well, we shouldn't export it to the likes of Norway then lol. Keep it for ourselves I say!
We live in the north of England, very near to Scotland (where it has been bad for a while now as it is nearer the Arctic where this cold snap is coming from) and we can't cope with bad weather. I love watching the snow coming down but I hate going out in it!
This is the worsed winter we have had for about 20 years (and it all started well in October as it was unseasonably mild then) and the cold weather looks set to continue until February by the looks of it. Great (she says, with a hint of sarcasm).
Does it snow every year without fail where you are or is it a rare event?

Which part of the world do you live in? We normally get snow about once ever 10 years but have had it for the last 2. Bit of a worrying trend if you ask me.

Hi Janey,
Since i live in a tropical country we don't have snow here. so you're lucky to have such kind of weather. i only experienced snow when i worked in washington dc 2 years ago. i love snow and ilove love playing in the snow.
just keep your body warm friend to avoid any sickness due to the cold weather!

that's good. at least you are healthy enough and have reserved energies to battle any possible sickness. stay healthy and happy as you live with the snow. so for the meantime--enjoy the sunny day. i know you love it right?

Thanks for your advice. It's actually a bit "warmer" since the snow but still extremely cold. Sunny too with lovely blue sky. I'm wearing a few more layers so that should help. I've been lucky as I've not had any illnesses lately. The previous year I probably had flu as I was in bed at Mum's for most of the Christmas-time. I wouldn't wish that on my worsed enemy!

Yes, when I was at Mum's there was snow just before Christmas Day but on the day itself never got any. Shame! Here in Carlisle it's been icy for about 2 weeks now so the current snow is settling on that. I have been lucky that I haven't fallen...but give me time, it will happen eventually! :-0

I doesn't snow that much where I am from. It is pretty much a rare occurence that happens like every couple of years. It is really nice to watch the snow come down. But going outside to shovel it is a pain in the butt.

I have a feeling my hubby may struggle in the morning getting to work. He's ok once on the motorway but it is snowing currently (just after 1am our time) and I've a feeling his car will get snowed in. Oh dear, I hope not!

Yes, every single year it snows here. And it snows a lot in the winter. Thankfully not as much as it used to. It snowed a lot about a week ago. Thankfully not since but it has not melted yet. So we have more than enough to worry about where I live.

I live in the midwest of the USA. It snows here a lot every Winter. We have so much snow right now and its still coming. And it has been like -20 degrees lately. Its so cold. We couldn;t even leave our homes the week of Christmas from all the snow.

Goodness me, that is cold. The lowest it will get in my part of the world is about -12...and that's at night. I saw a report on the television about the snow where you are. I was sat there with my mouth open most of the time. Our country comes to a standstill with just a few flakes here and there. In America and Canada you all just get on with it. I have so much admiration for you all.
