Have you ever experienced any such dive? i wonder, how can it happen... yesterday, suddenly i found it is down by five points... i'm not much concerned about my ratings anyway... i'm just curious, how can it happen!!! if that reduces to 10 from where it is now by the end of june, i really don't mind... but, five points in a day? is it not weird? though, weird things do often happen in myLot... so long, it was increasing very slowly... FAQ section states "Your star rating relies solely on the myLot users."... if that is so, how can it have such a steep dive?

I don't recall mine ever going down like that, but it go down at one time. When I first started, I had a very low rating, and it seems that when you first start out it does go that way at first, but after you have been here for awhile, then you start getting more positive responses. People do like to rat others negative, for one reason or another, and it isn't right, but it does happen to all of as at one time or another. I never did worry about my rating either, as I kinew evetually, it would go up, and it did, and I am glad about that. I give positive responses, as I try to help others build up their rating, as we are all trying to have good ratings. Just hang in there, be active, and you will see your ratings going up in no time. Good luck to you, and happy mylotting.

thanks rosekiss for your response... i really don't mind someone rating my responses negative... i too rate sometimes negatively, though very rarely... why should i mind? if someone thinks my response doesn't have any real substance, or feels, it has some negative impact, anyone has the right to rate mine negatively... that's the format of myLot... but, my concern in this discussion was how can the reputation rating fall by five points in a single day!!! someone has to dedicate him/herself to pull one down... that appears very unlikely... may be, i'm not sure, reputation rating may fall due to one's inactivity... someone in another discussion was also complaining about her downfallen rating apparently after her few days' inactivity...
thanks again rosekiss... happy myLotting...

I have had this kind of experience just a month or so ago. I started a discussion which hurt a lot of the members here who could not quite agree with me. And I went from 95 straight down to 87 in a single day. That was very hard for me. Because unlike you, I wanted to reach as high in the reputation as I could. It mattered to me.
I have got it back to 92. Do not worry, post quality posts, rate others positive and that reputation will start increasing drastically.

Hi sagnik42, thanks for your response... what you have mentioned is indeed very unfortunating... i feel sorry for you and pity for those who caused it... frankly speaking, i feel good too when i see my reputation climbing... what i meant, i don't feel sorry if it drops... probably, this statement is not the whole truth... i actually felt sorry when it dropped by five points... but, i was probably more angry than sorry... you are supposed to feel sorry when you find something damaged which took long time for you to build... but, i never bothered seeing the point dropping by one point... that's what is my idea... reputation should both climb and drop slowly... that looks normal to me... it will look equally weird to me, if it climbs suddenly by five points, but i may be happy for that... climbing and dropping by five points in a single day will require a concerted effort, or a deliberate effort by one... if it's caused by concerted effort, as in your case, something must have triggered others to do it... though, very unfortunate, good that you could know about it... but, unlike you, i couldn't find anything of that sort that could have triggered others... in fact, i was rather mostly inactive last few days before the drop... i still feel, it might have been due to my inactivity, or for some other reason not connected with my myLot friends... anyway friend, i echo your words... let's not worry much about it... let's take it as a part of the game...
thanks again for your response... happy myLotting....

raisur sometimes some mylotters still have not read that they are not to minus fellow mylotters simply because you did not agree with the other person. that is so wrong and yet some on here still do that, its vicious and should be stopped. yes several people could have taken umbrage on your discussions and hit the minus key but do not let it hurt you as it happens at times to all of us . you Are still the same good person you were. I will'always hit positive on your discussions so not worry. enough of us hitting plus will get you back up.the ratings on all of us tend to go up and down so dont let it get to you. you will make it bye And bye.

Hi hatley, thanks for your inspiring response... it speaks of your good heart... thanks for your concern, but i'm not really hurt, and i'm never hurt so easily... it just appeared weird to me that my reputation point dropped by five points in a single day... however, it appears reputation point may also drop for inactivity... can you confirm being a long-time user of myLot?
hatley, thanks again for your response... wishing you best of luck...
happy myLotting...

You are so right Hatley. I have had experience with some senior mylotters who rated me negative just because they did not like my opinion. I did not insult anyone, although they did. I did not blame anyone and I rated every body positive because I respect their opinions. I was so hurt that day.
I would not have known about all this if a new friend had not PM me and told me about all this. She is also a senior member and she said, that her friend has asked her to visit my discussion, and give me an appropriate response for such bad opinions. They had even deleted me from their friend list. I am grateful to her because she let me know about it. But this kind of behaviour is just not right.
