I also find sometimes it is difficult to say no. But when I realize that I am unable to do it even if I promise it. The result will be worse. So even if it is hard, but I still say it frankly. Perhaps I have to make up a good reason to say no and that's all.

If I want to refuse an invitation, I just say " another time, maybe" then thank for this. If I want to skip a mission, I can say that I'm not good enough to do it, and I can cite another nominator. But I encounter an offer making me uneasy, I can say no in straight way, anyhow, hurting some others is still better than hurting yourself.

Saying "NO" is not bad so long as we have the right reason or motive in saying so. We must say NO if we are not convince that what others are doing or telling us to do is wrong. It is good to be blunt or frank at times when needed for us not to regret the effect especially if it turned out to be bad or worst for us or to others as well.
