I have read several online sites on how to set up a business online using Yahoo auctions and eBay. What are your views?

That is why you need to use the payment system being offered by the site. Do not go for off-the-site transactions. If you are the seller, be sure that you already have the payment before shipping the goods. If you are buyer, when you did not receive the goods at the specified time, then confirm it with the buyer. If goods still unavailable, you can report the seller to eBay and apply charge back with Paypal.

well thanks for the information on how to do the transactions to overseas. guess paypal is the best way to prevent such cases from happening.

It is free to sign-up on eBay. First, you need is a Paypal or credit card to purchase goods or receive payments. Second, you must have goods to sell if your goal is to earn money. Third, you must have time to check on what is on sale. Fourth, the ability to discern whether you can earn money by buying then sell it later at a higher price :) Yahoo auctions and eBay are just one of the online businesses where you can really earn some money. That is, if you know how to buy and sell because that is what these sites are for. These are the marketplace in the internet where one can bid or buy now goods.

well i guess all of us here can set up doing business on eBay or Yahoo auctions. Payment by myLot is via Paypal or some other similar methods (can't remember the name). We have the time to spend on replying to discussions. We are here to earn money, so i guess that addresses to your 4th point. regarding to your 2nd point, i was thinking wouldn't it be good if friends could help each other and come up with goods and sell together. Problem is the part of selling overseas, have friends who got cheated, sent the item overseas and never got their money back. =(

I do a lot with Ebay...I dont have a store i just sale stuff I have around the house. I also have sites with a couple companies I am with. Some are scams I have been doing A LOT of looking for the sites that are free to sign up with. Also I have been contacting a lot of ppl that are with the sites, I want to be guaranteed that they are real and I will get paid for doing the work.

no business is simple, and too many try to hype that about ebay. I don't use it as a business, but I do resell some items. I am looking to buy DVD's at some great sales on black Friday then will sell them on ebay for about $20 per 100 pack
