All my Pets have always been in the House
Gissi runs the Flat lol I do not believe in Pets living outside they are like my Babies and they are inside with me all the time
I specially hate People that leave them out in the cold and wet as that is not fair, it is terrible
I am glad that you have yours indoors in this awful Weather

Hi there Enola.
Well the fur is to protect them from harsh conditions, i can't say if it is alright to only give the animal food and water, but it is better then not giving him that as i have seen worse cases on animal planet on the RCPSA rescue show.
My girlfriend's parents keep the window open for all the cats to be able to get into the kitchen were is warmer when they want to sleep or just shelter. The cats are also aloud in the house where they often spend time.
The dogs have their shelters, but also access in the old house, which offers more protection and they also have food and water at their disposal.

I think if You're going to be keeping an animal outside, you should provide some kind of a shelter for it in these sub zero conditions..although wild birds do seem to get by by fluffing up their feathers, and a Husky dog can survive out in the open in Arctic conditions...

I live in Ga and it doesn't usually get too cold here. However, the last few nights it has been very, very cold. I have 2 dogs that normally stay outside all night under a covered back area that has a rug laid down for them. Since it has been so cold though, I have let them in the house. They are a huge part of our family and we would be crushed if something happened to them.
