How do you feel about other's nails?

Cleanliness, shape and length of "Nails"(both fingers and toes) are very important factors for me to choose a friend other than the characters.
I remember when I was young, a friend who loved me and cared for me so much, wanted me to be her girl friend. I refused but I did not tell him why. The reason for rejecting him was the shape of his nails. Every nail looked like a big head, i.e. the fingers were thin while the heads and the nails of the fingers were so big.
I cannot accept men who have long nails and those who have long nails on the small fingers. It is quite common in the Chinese society that some men let their nails on the small fingers grow long, as they use them to remove the left food between teeth, to dig their nose and ears. It is so ugly. I hate seeing it. However, you can easily see it everywhere in the public transport.:(
Of course, I do not like dirty nails. No matter male or female, it is always a good habit to keep our nails clean. I think it is a matter of hygiene.
What do you think? Any preference?
Have a good week!

Hi agonyaunt, I'm not a fan of long nails and of course one expects others to have clean nails. Interestingly though, in this area of Greece, some men do keep one nail on the little finger extremely long, which looks rather odd. Even though I've asked why they do it I'm never sure which version is correct, some say it is to better pick their ears, I joke I think, whilst others say it is to symbolise that the family has risen from that of peasant to professional.

I myself is very particular about the cleanliness of one's nails specially with men. I would really want to see them short and clean. It does not need to have a polish. As long as it is clean and without those dirty looking nails, that is fine with me.

I realize that people have their quirks about what they look for in potential spouses, but to accept or reject potential friends based on how their nails look is completely ludicrous. Of course, this is just my opinion, so take it or leave it as you will, but I think you're missing out on a lot of good friends by looking at their nails instead of what's inside. It's a bit superficial, I think.

Oh that is the most disgusting thing!!! It is very easy to know how a person maintains his/her personal hygiene by just looking at the nails. I am sure to watch this thing, I have also chalked out a character study on some people after watching a lot of nails. Nails on men are a big no no, in our place people have this habit of keep nail long on the thumb. Some keep it clean. The only use of this is for carpenters who use it as a marker!!!
I have sen many people keep their nails dirty. Recently I noticed this friend of mine who had just removed her nail polish and her nails were yellow in colour due to persistant use of nail polish and the undernails were just a lump of dirt!! YUCK!!! I just wanted to vomit the food I was having...my bro in law also keep very dirty nails. I hate peole like that and I do not touch things they touch...Quite nice to have a hubby who have well shaped nails that they look manicured!!! I do not have a naturally good shape, but I keep it clean and shape it well. :))
