In last couple of the month, I have trouble sleeping, always uneasy when after being in bed. I seem to have insomia, therefore interfering with my activities everyday. Usually I can sleep at night at 10 o'clock, now I just be able to sleep after 4 o'clock in the morning. And I started my activities at 8 o'clock and always sleepy until my activities is finish at 5 o'clock at late afternoon. I have tried therapy with herbal medicine but it's doesn't work, drink a glass of milk before I sleep and counting goats until 1000 it's same doesn't work for me. Did anybody have same problem like I do, and how to solve this ?

...Hi there lazuardy, Welcome to the ranch, enjoy. Happy 2010. Try to find a herbal tea called Chamomile. Drink a cup or so at night and you should sleep well.
A very warm bath just before you get into bed, may also help you to fall asleep. Be careful not to fall asleep in the tub. If you can, try meditating on the week ends and in the evenings, to help you relax, you may be under stress that you are not even aware of. Hope these suggestions help you to fall and stay asleep. Take care.

I get insomnia once in a while but it does not last that long. The longest I have had insomnia is two or three days then I just conk out and can then sleep fine for a long time until I get the insomnia again. I do not know how I would react if it lasted any longer then the two or three days those are bad enough for me.

you should seek medical help for the insomnia. It is more common than you may think, my husband has it, and they put him on sleeping pills to help him keep his days and nights strait. He was up for an enitre week once with no sleep, even though he was so tired he couldn't keep his focus on anything. Every time he laid down, he'd jump right back up. He finally went to the doctor about it and they told him he had insomnia. Just a suggestion, but that's what I'd do.

I remember having this problem for about a month or so last year. It was terrible. No matter what I did or how hard I tried, absolutely nothing would send me into even a passable night's sleep. In the end, I changed my lifestyle so that I was excercising like crazy. I also took a whole load of herbal supplements. The activity combined with the herbal remedies benefitted me, and I have never had trouble sleeping since

I had a problem sleeping at night but It is because I am addicted to internet activities. If the options you had made did not work. Then I suggest you to seek a doctor for that matter. TO check if you have problems in you body that cannot be cured by those you have made. They will be able to conduct series of laboratory test and detect your sleeping patters. Thereby, you can have a concrete solution for that matter. I think your problem is in body metabolic functions.

Hi lazuardy. Don't worry because you are not alone with this problem. I actually have insomnia for quite long time ago already, though there are some times that I could sleep well. I have tried some home remedies before like drinking warm milk before going to bed, eating banana, taking some honey, and many others but it didn't work. I was thinking that it was because my job isn't physically tiring, but mentally. I am an online English teacher so what I used to do is just sit down and talk for how many hours. I tried to make myself physically exhausted by doing some exercises and sweating a lot early in the afternoon (since I couldn't wake up early in the morning). I guess, it somehow helped me relieved my insomnia a little. Just try it and see for yourself if it will be effective for you too.

Do not just rely on taking sleeping pills or herbal medicines or therapy. Look out into your diet, do you still eat late at night like 9 in the evening? Well, if you actually do that, you will not feel any sleepiness. However, if it is not about your diet, you better ask a physician for you to determine its root cause.

I suggest you seek professional help to make sure you have insomnia before you can term what's going on with you as "insomnia." It might just be your lifestyle. I used to be like that. If you are still young, there's no doubt about it that you will have to exhaust yourself until you're ready to bed. My daughter is 22. She sleeps at 2am, wakes up at 430, leaves for work at 6, comes back at 8pm. Imagine how many hours of sleep she has? But if you are in your 40s and older, it's also normal that you won't get enough sleep because, maybe, you took a long nap in the afternoon. Usually, older people have shorter sleeping hours. Finally, don't stress out your mind, body and soul with things that will make you awake. Sometimes, even when your body would like to rest, your mind doesn't.
