Here in the Philippines, we celebrate fiestas or festivals in honor of our patron saints and in commemoration of our city's foundation.
A number of these festivals are the: KANNAWIDAN festival in Ilocos Sur where there is a showcase of locally grown products and local talents with concerts, songs and dances. We also have the PANAGBENGA festival in Baguio City where the parade of different flowers designed in beautifully crafted floats. Another is the VIVA PENAFRANCIA where we celebrate the feastday of Sto. Nino. VIVA VIGAN is also celerated annually to celebrate the creation of Vigan City from a municipality to a city.
In your place, what festivals do you celebrate and how do you celebrate them?
