people always saying TOUCHWOOD everytime mostly at end of there talk....

y people always prefer to say touchwood at end... i always saying as nothing goes wrong if i say anything gud on that. touchwood works dat i found how many people belive thouchwood saying at end really effect somewhere

I say it but I'm not sure that I believe in it. Usually when I say "Touch wood" I touch my head at the same time. LOL. I think that maybe my head is wood when obviously it is not. Although I am very thick! People also say things like "Fingers crossed" or invoke Gods or Godesses. However, I think that it is mostly down to luck or the individual's judgement.

Good discussion. I have a friend who always say 'touch wood' after saying something good about somebody. I don't know the purpose behind saying that. I think she says 'touch wood' to prevent the person she mentioned from getting an evil eye. I mean nothing bad will happen to the person because she praised or appreciated him.
