Have you ever clicked the " I'm feeling lucky" menu at the Google site?

I never knew why this menu " I'm feeling lucky" is present at the Google site near the search bar. I have never clicked it too..Today I just clicked it..It takes us directly to the site that is closely related to the keyword we type..But I wonder why this menu is found near the search bar..Have you noticed this " I'm feeling lucky" menu at the Google site? Have you ever clicked it?

if you press im feeling lucky button with search text it will automaticly open the first scan result

hmmm, you got me...I never did, I don't even know where to look at... Near the search bar? it is not on mine search bar...
