in some countries such as UK and in India people drive on the left-hand side of the road.whereas in the US and Middle East people drive on the right-hand side of the road.which do you think is better? According to research, left hand side is better, because in the event of an emergency the driver is more prone to tilt steering to the left-hand side and avoid collision.what do you think?

I'm used to driving on the right side of the road, so I prefer that, but I think that's mainly habit. I've been driving on the left side of the road in both Scotland and Australia, and I think I would get used to it pretty fast. Roundabouts are very confusing though :-)

I believe that a person who has driven all his/her life in a country with right side driving would definitely get confused in a country with roundabouts in a left side driving region. With the exception that in a country like India, where roundabouts are very scarce and it is total mayhem out there ;)

I live in the usa and prefer to drive on the right side of the road. You get a better realization on how close you are to other cars, because you are right near them, where as on the other side, you don't get a realization of that closeness.

I can see your point, but i would like to add that this point holds true even for cars driven on the left hand side of the road since the steering wheel is placed on the right hand side of the car.So obviously while overtaking a car in the front, one has good perception of the distance between the oncoming vehicle and the car in front.I agree that if the steering wheel is on the left hand side of the vehicle,it is indeed difficult.
