Hi to all, :)
I haven't written anyone a letter in a long time, maybe over 5 years. I use to write letters to my grandmother who lives far away.
When was the last time you wrote someone a letter? And I mean something personal, like a love letter or a thank you note. :)

Today I did. My older brother is in jail so I can't exactly email him _ But yeah, I snail mailed him so we can keep in touch untill he gets out. I also write to my fiancee who lives in Florida, it's better being able to hole a love letter in your hands and feel the paper and see their hand writing than it is to read an email, which feels far less personal.

Aww, that's so sweet! :) I know it's gonna make your brother feel less lonely with all those mails. And I admire you for doing that, because you know only a few people today do snail mail. And I agree with you 100%, hand-written letters feel more personal--you get to feel the penmanship on the paper. Honestly, I feel sentimental reading handwritten letters given to me. After I read them I stare at them and good old memories just come to mind again. :) It makes me feel good, not to mention sad.

Last week. I write snail mail letters to my granddaughter all the time..at least 3 a month. She loves to get them and I have a good collection of fridge art that she colors and mails to me. I also always hand write and send my thank you cards by snail mail. Guess that makes me a little out of touch with technology.

I think that's a very good way to be out of touch with technology. Technology can bring us all closer but at times it can be cold and impersonal.

Its been probably a year or so since I've written a letter. When my cousin and i were kids we wrote each other back and forth. After a little while we stopped. Then a few years ago she moved out to California to be with her boyfriend. We gave writing each other letters another shot to keep in touch. It didn't last very long. We both were just too busy to keep it up. I've thought about getting a penpal online to write back and forth with, but I haven't yet. Now with the price of stamps I think I'll find an email penpal instead.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that - the price of stamps keeps rising, it's so not making me want to write the old fashioned way. lol

The last time I wrote a snail mail letter was a few years ago. It was when I had a family member that was very ill and they didn't have any kind of Internet access. They were very happy to get it. It does seem rather out of style now to even hand write your own letter.

Oh gee... I think 12 years ago. if I'm not mistaken it was for my Dad when he was still working in Saipan. Since I was hooked on doing everything on the computer I somewhat abandoned the idea of snail mail. I sent someone a card with some short note on it last three years ago but I don't considered it as snail mail.

12 years, that's even longer than me... I think it's quickly become the norm to email. Though It's not as "sweet" as handwritten letters - it's just so much more practical.

I think the last time I snail-mailed was about 6 years ago. My classmate/friend back then went to live in Japan. She mailed me here in the Philippines and said that I should reply. I did, and it was actually the first and last time that I did snail mail. The other letters that I often wrote were letters from my other friends who really didn't live faraway. We just loved exchanging letters in school.

Maybe Christmas 2008. I didn't send anything this last Christmas. I used to write a lot more, but other things have taken over my life. I do want to write a letter to one of my mom's cousins though, I don't believe she has internet right now.

I like many dont write enough letters. We all keep in touch via the internet somuch now. Its nice and faster than the post office but it has lost that personal touch. I do write my fiance little notes on occasions and place them in his lunch box. Matter of fact its been a while. Thanks for the discussion I'll have to write one for tomorrow's meal. :)
Last time I wrote a letter that had to be mailed was about 8 months ago when the fiance and I were in different states.

Actually, I send out thank you notes every year after Christmas. There are family members who live in other states. They send me money through the mail for the holiday. Thus the easiest way is to pen a thank you note. That's about the only time I use snail mail system throughout the year, only when I have to.

It seems long time that I wrote a real letter before. Although I write mails for business everyday, but I have no feeling of it. When I read some letters from my freinds whicj I got in the school, there always a warm and special mood comes.....

Yeah I did. I wrote cards, cards, love notes, for my sweetheart, my friends and my family hehe. I write letters to my best friend who studies abroad. We do chat, comment each other facebook a lot, but a year ago, she told me that she missed our mother language, and I began to write her snail letters.

I always write Christmas cards if they count? I might not write very much, but I always try to write something personal and not only copy the "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year". Also, since I usually use my own pictures for Christmas cards I take some time to pick the right picture for every person. The ones I can't make up my mind about get a photo of my horse *he he* Because he looks funny.
But the answer would be about two weeks ago, and hopefully tonight as I'm a bit late this year.

The last time for me was so long age - like hmm . . . maybe about 8 years ago :)
When I was in my hometown for Christmas to see and join my family for the holidays I found old mails from my conversation with few mail-friends when I was a teenager. It was so good to read these mails again after all the years. I will always remember the passion of writing such a mails. It's wonderful feeling when you receive a mail from someone you know only from the words in the letter. The paper, the ink . . . it's all in the past now :)

Hello UpsideDownPineapple me too rarely used to write letter to my friends and relatives, as mostly used to join them instead of writting them letters.Still mine last letter was for my cousin, at mine native place where he stays.Well when had visited him, had complained that there is no contact for an year or so from me, so i kept on writting letter to him about some experiences and some good wishes. You may call the cousin an loved one, he is too close to me and like his company when am at my native place. But later got used to phone calls and just prefered to skip the postal mail services.Anyways keep it up with your loved ones, Happy mylotting.

Come to think of it, I haven't wrote anyone a snail mail letter since like 10 years ago. My last letter should be addressed to my pen friend in UK whom I never heard from her again since the last letter. I still had the letters we exchanged and the only time I saw her was through the photos that she mailed me. I missed those days actually. Waiting for the mail to reach her and waiting for her reply. The feeling of waiting for the mail kinda been wiped out with emails in place. Do you think so? Even greeting cards are slowly replaced by e-cards and I have a few friends whom had wanted to replace their wedding cards with e-cards.
