Who is giving name of goldfish..? I don't think it's gold... :doh:

A lot of things have weird names. At least the color of goldfish is close to the color gold.

ancient Chinese cultivated goldfish from crucian carp. and the crucian carp they chose was not the normal one, but the golden one. the first generation of goldfish is the variation of crucian, and is golden. Chinese called it goldfish. gold here means golden, good luck and wealth in China. coz at first only rich people can have the rare goldfish. now there're many kinds of goldfish, and they have different colors. but their ancient was golden, so... like my ancient was called HE, now my family name was HE. haha

yep... i agree with u. I think, it looks orange. why don't people call it orangefish. hehehe......
