autorun..

hey guys. do you know this "autorun" that keeps showing up on your folder?
is this a virus or some sort of thing?is it harmful?
how do i get rid of this?

I also have autorun.info folder in my local disk (drive C). I already tried scanning it with my Symantec Endpoint Protection, no harm detected. I think that's okay to let it remain there as long as there is no harm caused to you. One of our buddies here is right, it's just a left over file that resist deletion.

Autorun is not a virus but it is most easiest way to put a virus into your system most of new antivirus consider auto run as virus only specially new onces So one should never auto run any new cd,dvd, pd etc if u wanna open any file use the explore function by that u wouldn't get any viruses in your system even if that disk has a virus until of course you copy virused material or install it in your pc. But Most of flash dvds nowadays come with autorun so can't really help it so i suggest you to download this

download from here i guess its a trial version i have a full version i m too lazy to look for it now lol ill put it up later just ask for it.
yeah install this and scan all your cd, dvds etc with this first and then use autorun.
