Who's broke after Christmas?

Sure its the season to give but why does it have to be such an expensive event? Each year I say I'm going to keep my spending to a minimum yet I always seem to come out of the festive season forced to follow a strict budget to get me through the weeks that follow. Does anyone else feel my pain?

I'm not broke thankfully. I'm still trying to make sure I'm not spending as much money as I have been. I'm trying to really keep an eye on my 'budget' and still manage to get things that I need and that my pets need without going over board. I'm trying to save money like everyone else so I just need to find the perfect balance.

We never have alot of money, we live paycheck to paycheck. Our kids had a great Christmas, and we will have to pinch pennies for this month, but we did not put anything on a credit card. It was paid with cash, and the gift cards I was able to cash in online by doing surveys and things online.
