Unfortunately, many of us have made Things and Money our gods. We have become immersed in earthly pleasures and forgotten why we are here. This economic disaster is helping us to discover that money and things are fleeting. The only thing that really matters is the love we give and receive and the good things that we can do for our brothers and sisters here on earth, as we are all related through God.

Hi Ganesh,
Yes somehow I agree with you. Now a days most people seem to worship a lot of material things and money instead of our God, it is really a sad fact but it is also the reality. What if God the giver of all wealth will one day get back all these richness and even our priceless lives? Can we still use our money to live again for the second time? Can we buy our salvation?
I hope everyone will realize the importance of a true and firm relationship with our creator while we still have the chance to thank him for everything, to ask for his guidance and to share our blessings with others too. Our wealth is nothing compared to God's love manifested by sacrificing his own life for us to be saved and yet we keep on committing sins and forgetting him. Wake up for those who are still sleeping before its too late to wake up.

Dear Denvert LC
I think you have best described what I was trying to convey .......people today have started thinking money being much more important than our creator GOD they never think who is giving them money ,I rarely get such response when I talk about our creator, similar to one I got from you .......wonderful !

gamesh ..i seem to disagree on this ..
money is "survival kit" while god is "spiritual"
one can sit at his working place, observe one minute of thoughts about god
one can not sit at the worshipping place for 24 hours without butterfly in the stmomach - one will loose concentration about god during hunger
People are giving importance for better life, better future for next generation. God only directs us to the path we have to go tru the journey ourselves, god will give us the basic elements for survival - brains, hands, legs, fingers, eyes, ears - we have to use them in right channel to survive and we did
during stoneage - we hunt, we kill and we survived - now we have other means of income - we use the money to buy food - we just basically not doing the hunting but using a "transactor - money"
if u argue base on money makes people to forget god , then the stonage farmer too forgot god when he was hunting
With money in my hand i believe i can afford to do good deeds that are urged by god - to donate to needy people - now i don even hav enough to pay my debts
cheers

Dear Sanjana
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha lol please dont mind your response made me to have a healthy laugh let me ensure you GOD is not just spritual thing GOD is the real force behind our survival and money comes as secondary thing ......
So this is the reason I raised this discussion to let everyone know we dont survive because of our money but we survive GOD give us that money yes GOD make survival of disabled possible because GOD is key to survival ......
Try to analyse deeply and you will find what I m saying is true ......yes

You may be right Ganesh, but u must hv noticed that more the people earn, more they remember the God to increase their earning further and more they donate in temples and Gurudwaras etc.to show their appreciation to the God. Whereas a poor person will will barely find time to visit God's temple as he will be too busy in earning for his bread and butter and will remember the God in his mind only. Other day I went to the Gurudwara and saw a lady along with her servant carrying approx.ten newly stitched curtains and an expensive quilt set to be donated on the eve of Guru Gobindsingh Ji's birthday. Her expensive gifts to the God made me think - so much money spent on gifts which in no way are going to used by the God himself, but will go to the residence of some gurudwara official as only 10 curtains in such a big well decorated hall will not be used by the Gurudwara management. May be this was that lady's way of showing gratitude to the God. So, in my opinion God and his resting place these days has become show off place for rich people.

Dear Vanita
Those who preach GOD for increasing their earning infact are not preaching GOD they r just preaching money and their relation with GOD is restricted as a buisness relation and not a father and child relation which is the real relation of ours with GOD I think but I dont intend to criticize such people as they are atleast doing some good work

Maybe its just a one of a million cases. We should also remember that the devil often use money and wealth to discourage and confuse God's believers. A good relationship with God does not require a precious material gifts and offerings. Showy believers can not fool God but their own selves.

...Hi there Ganesh44, Happy 2010. When we think about God, we think about Him as an invisable figure, someone who exists for some people but is not physically present. So we, I think look to Him when there is trouble, "help me Lord" we say, when we are sick, we need His healing power. So I think He is a strong force in time of trouble, some people do keep Him at the forefront of their thoughts. Money on the other hand is needed on a daily basis, think about it, you come out of your house which has rent or a mortgage that has to be paid for with money, the clothes you are wearing, paid for with money, your car, your gas, food. All things needing to be paid for on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. There is something in the Bible that says "money answers all things" and something else that says, "the love of money is the root of all evil". So I think there has to be a balance, but money is the source of movement in the world. No money, no trains, buses, airplanes, economies, they all need money. The more immediate concern is with money, which may indeed be wrong, but to live we need money. Hopefully the Lord is a part of our lives as well, should be moreso really. Take care.

Who gives us this money though? God does, He gives us the knowledge, skills, talents, and abilities to get a job and make money. He also gives us our houses, apartments, cars, food, clothing and all of our other possessions. But often, this is taken for granted, unfortunately. I think the point that Ganesh44 is trying to bring out is that often people are so worried about getting that high paying job, that extra money for this or that, and they forget about the role that God has in the process. Also, read my response to her, that if we put making money before God, then we have made it an idol. God says in His Word, that He will supply all our needs(house, car, job, food, clothing)according to His Riches in Glory. Everything we have as far as possessions go, belong to God, He has just given it to us for a season. We, as believers, must put God first, and He will give us the money to buy all these other things and meet our needs, totally and completely. Have a great day.

I see many people without enough money, either because they are lazy or because of bad luck or misfortune. Being able to get hold of some money will alleviate the situation of these people in almost every case. The idea that God gave them free choice, which got them into trouble and God helped them by making the money available is pretty silly and difficult to follow.
Sure people are meant to believe in the bible but we have lost the ability to do that. Even the teachers have lost the ability to teach us the ways of Christ and the meaning of God's wishes for us. Some have lost faith especially when they see many of the faithful give more attention to money than to God.
Most of the wealthy think only of themselves. They use their money for their own pleasure and enjoyment, many of these people could give just a little and help those in the world who are miserable, hungry and homeless but they don't. There is enough for everyone but some people want it all and will not share.

I think people should be more balance in life. Money is important as lack of money can draw in a lot of miseries. In this materialistic world we need money to see us through for our survival. But at the same time we should not forget our soul. We need to be spiritually aware so our body and soul are well taken care of. We should always remember God who made this world a wonderful place to live in.

Dear Zandi
I think GOD is the real distributor of money based on our efforts that sounds confusing but yes I think what ever in life we get is the soul wish of GOD and we must pray GOD to keep us apart from miseries why not its due to shortage of money yes

it seems sometimes people are putting money and possessions over everything.
god,family,people in general.
but the way society is set up anymore, some people have to work two or three jobs just to keep a roof over their head and food in their belly.and often it's still not enough.very sad state of things.

I think money has become even more valuable than people. People forget that we werent meant to live our lives just to work.

Hello my friend Ganesh44 Ji,
You are absolutely right in your analysis. Money has many advantages over moneyless person. What I think, money is something and not everything. Let's not be money-minded.
May God bless You and have a great time.

My friend Ganesh. I see your point. But which God are we really talking about. In these desperate times when you look around. Some people don't even believe in their preferred religions. Like some of my former office mates would say. Some people worship money as their God. Lol. Funny really since, a deity can come in different forms. In a controlled society everywhere, these things happen. Hehe. cheers!

Hi Ganesh: Definetly Yes, people think more and more about money rather than God and his moral/etical values that our societies have lost their horizon. The consummism societies are worst than ever. I know we have discussing this for ages but the messages that boys receive from the mass medias is simple: buy everything, religions i just a joke, don't hear your parents etc. I think that, Parent's challengue today is bigger than how it was some years ago. Thanks for asking us this question Ganesh. Hope you are having a nice day. Happy New Year and Keep Mylotting. Take Care.

Same observation here. I see fewer people comes to our church every Sunday this past years. Maybe people are too tired of there 5 or 6 days work that they wanted to take the Sunday's off rather than going to churches. And the main reason is of course "money". The cost of living is very much higher now than 10 years ago. Each had to earn much money to keep-up with the bills, bills and bills. But I think people give more importance to money than God as I pray a lot to Him especially if I missed my Sunday mass.

Even though i don't believe in religion people used call me that i am an Hindu. I am speaking to be honest. yes. it's happening. People are forgetting the god day by day. Their focus mainly on earning money as soon as possible. In this running race they didn't have much time for god, not even their families. Some children s event didn't know that, when his father coming to home and going.
But in case of Muslim religion it's some thing better. They used to pray god daily, if not even once in a week ( Friday). It's really good. Even they used to pray god between the discussion also ( In shah Allah ), like that. It's very nice. Where ever the good qualities we have to learn form it.

Yes, sadly but this is very true, people have in many ways, given more importance to money than to God. Getting rich and finding ways to make more money have become idols to people. Idolatry is putting anything before God. God clearly states in His Word, that "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." So when one makes money an idol, he/she has sinned. God is the Giver of ALL things, and often we think that we earned the money, or the material things we received from the money, when in reality, it was He who gave it to us really. So make God Lord of your Life, and "Seek ye first His Kingdom and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33
