Welcome to MyLot. I think that it is best to participate in some discussions first so that you get to know people here and so that they can get to know you. If people don't know something about you first or you don't know something about them, what use is there in having them on your 'Friends' list? Be patient, join in the fun here, read the Guidelines and the FAQs and don't be too eager to add people as friends until you can see that you share the same interests. There are many new members here who simply join and try to add friends in order to spam. I expect that you aren't one of those but you can see why many people are cautious about adding 'friends' who have not posted anything yet!

If you're anything like me, you'll have a lot more fun posting in other discussions. For me, my own discussions only start "coming alive" when I get some feedback. At first, I was a lone voice in the wilderness, and got despondant at having no replies. I was so aloooone Then I started responding to discussions already started - before long I made loads of new friends, and now my own discussions get replies I feel part of a community. Like you, I post here mainly for fun. Anyone coming here solely for money is on the wrong track,IMHO.
