In dating, who should pay for the bill?

In chivalry men always pay for the bill, that's what I like about dating. In the culture where I grew up its always the gentlemen who pays the bill during dating. It doesnt matter if its the first date, the second and etc.
Since the guy asked me out, then he should be prepared to pay our dinner expenses and others. But in other culture I think the two dating couple will split the bill.
In dating, who do you think shoul pay the bill? The guy? The girl or split between the two?

As for me, it should always be the guy. But in some cases like, if I invited him somewhere I make sure to at least share or pay for the food/dinner or whatever we had.lolz
But during first date, it is a must for a guy to pay all the bills incurred. 
It'll be awesome if he always insist to pay the bills all the time...lolz..

If its a date the its the gentlemen who pays.
But if your going out and going steady its should be alternate of split.
But in first date it should be gentlemen.
That how men get his first kiss in his first date..lolz

I think the man should pay for the bill when dating just out of pure respect for the woman. I do think the woman should offer to pay her part though, especially these days since alot of women ask men out and they work too.

I think the men should oay for the bill. If you are dating it seems to be the respectful thing to do on a mans part. I am married now and we sometimes split the bills and sometimes he refuses to let me pay for anything. I think it is great. But now that I am married and older I want to help as much as I can.

I think both should pay the bill. It's only fair. Sometimes it could be the gentlemen, but women should help especially if it is an expesive restaurant. So split the bill no matter who asks who to go out.

If they are lovers they may split. But, the guy needs girl only he has 2 pay.
