Ok so you have a blog and several posts. How do you get good traffic? what do you think is the most important steps to getting it off on the right foot? Submit to google, yahoo, digg, stumble? Theres so many things out there that people say are the right way to develope a blog. What has worked for you? Ive set adsense up and h its already reporting about 75 visitors for today but just unsure what i should do next. Thanks for any advice, im a newbie to this.

wow. thats great to have that many already. i dont think i could even get that. i've never done a blog except on myspace where you dont get paid. but i would think you would have to have a lot of good friends that you exchange the favor with just like on here?

I maintained a myspace account for a long time too. Wow wish you could get paid for myspace that would be awesome wouldnt it! Think myspace could come up with some way to pay similar to mylots but think theres a bit of a greed problem with myspace LOL I wonder if over time myspace may have to change because more and more social sites come online everyday. Just like im sure myspace took a hit when facebook came on the scene.

Whilst search engines will naturally find your content over time, there is no harm in submitting it to them as one of the first steps when trying to get good traffic. What I would also suggest is to learn all about SEO that is keywords, catchy titles etc etc as then when search engines do find your content you have a better chance of getting it found by people searching the net.
But most importantly get out there and get yourself known within your niche. So if you find an interesting article on someone else’s blog within your niche leave a relevant comment and a link back to your site. Do the same with forums within your niche but always make sure your contributions are helpful and not just spam.
I would also suggest writing articles for other sites such as eZine and hubpages as you can add a link back to your site on there and as these are already established you will get some decent traffic from them. Plus you could always offer to write a guest post for another more established blog, you will get major traffic doing this.
One thing I will say is don’t follow any advice which recommends joining a traffic exchange because all you will end up doing is getting people visiting your site for a few seconds and clearing off, only doing it to earn traffic for themselves.

I have been writing for ehow and i put links to my blogs too great ideas about writing for other places and linking to your blog , i can see it does help. I know what youre saying about spam , i hate going to forums and the posts are all spam and not content or discussions. I have shyed away from traffic exchange sites , would rather get readers that really want the information rather than someone just jumping blog to blog. Thanks for the tips.

There are so many Things yet can be considered :
1. Keyword optimization.
2. Submit to around 1000 Search engines( I have the list)
3. See if you can do SEO like backlinks on other posts.
4. Submit it to blogcatalogs and directories.
5. interact with other bloggers.
Cheers
