Every year for xmas my in laws always get me a year membership for AAA... and every year I use it. I either lock my keys in my car, have used a tow, or I use the great discounts that you get for many things. If you travel or go on a vacation many hotels, restaurants, car rental agencies and parks give AAA discounts. TONS of places do actually. Also you dont register the vehical normally you are registered so if your with a friend or family member whose car broke down or is locked ect, just call and give them your number and they head on out. Its great. It isn't something your going to want to end up wishing you had it when its too late so I would say go for it.

of course you say your cars are getting older...
I was going to say that first I would have to have the money for the membership fees...but I would also want a vehicle worth it.
I own a 1989 Thunderbird that I bought for $500. It has a lot of problems.....
It does run, so I do hate to complain about it too much, just wish I could get something nicer (like a conversion van!)

I don't at the moment, because my car was under warranty until about 6 months ago. It was an extended warranty. But the car is getting older now, and my husband's car is almost 2 years older than mine so it might be a good idea to sign up for some kind of auto club. Especially with the weather being so harsh and cold right now.
