Hey aamir: Girls love their fathers and vice versa. So most girls look for a father figure for love and security and feel protected and cherishes more than by a younger guy. Girls also don't want to keep picking after little boys who get into scrapes at the drop of a hat and need looking after themselves. Also, most young boys and men do have less confidence than older men or even women of the same age. therefore naturally, a girl wants a man she can look up to and one who can take charge of things and be a tower of strength when necessary. So there you are aamir, a younger girl would always or in most cases prefer a older man until that girl becomes a older woman who might then prefer a younger man or toy boy.

I like older men because they don't play games. They are more mature and They are sure of themselves.There is less Bullsh!t.

This can have several reasons. First off women are said to mature earlier than men do and therefore women would seek out older men to be in a relationship with. That way they would have the biggest chance to be on the same level of maturity in a relationship. Also, older men have stronger genes they pass on to their children. Therefore, biologically speaking, women would have an instinct that tells them to search for a strong and older mate because it would increase the chances of getting stronger offspring and therefore increasing the overall chance of survival for the species.

My boyfriend is four years younger than me, so I am the opposite of that poll. To me, age is nothing but a number, but for some women, I guess it means everything. Many women (not all women) like older men because they might have "Daddy Issues" or because they have been taught that older men can take care of them (which many women are now beginning to realize is not true, just because a man is older than you does not mean that he can take care of you). I never imagined falling in love with a younger man, but it happened. When I first found out how old he was, I was speechless, but I figured that I might as well give it a shot. What did I have to lose? I had been on dates with older men and I went on dates with guys who were wrong for me. For some reason, the younger man had what they didn't. I looked past his age.

i used to have a crush on men older than me. what had attracted me to them is their maturity on things and the way they decide on stuffs. experience wise, they're good at some stuffs too.

I don't know the most, but the girl beside me like their bf is 2-5 years older than them.Maybe the elder man is much reason,maturity,which will give girls the sense of security. My hobby is 2 years old than me, i think it is good.

These days, many men do not grow up, they remain boys...maybe not in action but certainly in their thoughts. Once upon a time men could be relied upon to be responsible and strong, to provide security and comfort but these days they are too selfish. So many women look for older men in the hope that they will find one with some wisdom and maturity and a sense of responsibility. Once upon a time it might have been that girls had fantasies about their fathers but I don't believe that happens so much in this day and age.

Hi aamir030, If you love an older person so much then I think that you don´t think of his age as such. If you are deeply in love with that person you are seeing the person for what they really are inside. I have been friends with older men but also with younger men but have never fallen in love with one older or younger than me at least not yet but I suppose it could happen I cannot say that it won´t.

My boyfriends were always the same age or a couple of years younger. My husband is almost 1 year younger than me. He has always been more mature than many men I have known that were older. So, I guess I'm not the average. Age doesn't matter, it's what's inside.

i guess girls prefer guys of their own age because in my college if a girl has a boyfriend he's of the same batch...so during our freshers party the question was asked that why girls choose guys of their same batch to be their boyfriend?..

In reality girls really like older men. Would it look good if girls go for younger guys? I don't think people would like that. Another reason is older men match the level of thinking of girls. Guys of the same age have a lower level of thinking than girls of their age level. And of course, older men are mature, more responsible and cuter.

hmm....i think it must depend a lot on the age of the girl...seriously. From the time I was like six years old onwards until I was in my 20's, I always looked at older men. The reason for that is that "boys" my own age ( at least most of them) were just so immature. Looking back, I can't say that the older guys that gave me the time of day were really great catches but at the time I thought so compared to guys my age. I was 28 and I did marry a man the same age as me. We divorced when I was 32 and since then with the exception of one, all the men I have dated have been younger than me. I'm 53 and I am NOT attracted to guys that are way younger but I have been asked out by some so let's turn this around...why would a 33 yr old ask a 53 yr old woman out. Now I find that to be really weird. I will go a few years younger than myself now which I would not have done when younger. I'm not attracted to older guys any more. i really think it all depends on your starting point.

I think there are already other female members who have responded to this with the most "valid" explanation. It really is just because of maturity. Girls would mature faster than guys so their male peers might still be left in the school playground while the girls are already in the park. Age is really just a number and there are young guys who mature at the same rate as the girls. Then again there are girls who are into guys that they can "baby". So it is a case to case basis. But generally speaking, as what the poll and some studies have reported, most girls do mature faster, so they tend to be attracted to older guys because of their maturity and experience. Girls would look up to someone who they can learn from and show them the world. That's just what I think anyways.^_^

Its funny how a lot of younger girls say they like older guys because they are more mature. LAMO!!! Im 54 and i know men who are in their 40's and 50's that are not mature at all.

Hi aamir! I don't think that girls really do prefer older men! When I was young I didn't! And now I prefer younger men and at my age I would me called a Cougar! When your young you really have no idea what you want and what you like! It's all those raging hormones!lol I had crushes on older tv stars, but not older men in "real life"!

In my opinion,women's faces would be looked older than men's as the time gone(if they are at the same age ,or men are younger than women). what a pity as a female.

Sometimes women that prefer older men have a background that they are seeking for their father. They tend to see a father figures on older men and get closed to them and eventually fell in love...hahaha...
