If you were a good candidate for laser surgery, which could possibly improve your eyesight, would you submit yourself for the operation? Have you thought about having laser surgery on your eyes or have you had it performed already?

If I could afford laser surgery and it would help me see without having to have very thick glasses then I would consider having the surgery. When I got my first glasses when I was just a teenager the eye doctor said I could not get contact lens. I was not very sure why so I never did get any contacts but if I could have the surgery then I would.

...Hi happy, I don't have any problem with the eye surgery, as long as I could obtain some information about the doctor's patient's and the outcome of their surgery. I would just want to know that he or she knew what they were doing before the operation. That's no guarantee but, it would make me feel better, if I had positive information. I have long eyeballs so I don't know if the surgery would help me. Take care. Thanks for your response.

....Hi AnswersAroundUs, it is so nice of you to provide us with information to help improve your eyesight. Eating the proper foods and taking vitamins, plus doing the exercise would be a good thing to do. These things are good to do, if you take the suggestions that are offered. Thanks so much for your comment and for the website link. Take good care.

Hi artistry, I first heard about this many years ago when the Cubans were proving very successful with the technology. Then there was a Russian ship going round which you could stop on and have it performed. I wished then that I could afford to have it done but it was very expensive at the time. I'd still be interested but there's never enough cash to put it on the top of the list, though now I've heard that it isn't always too effective anyway on the short sighted, but if offered a free voucher I'd check the latest news on it and if all seemed okay I'd go for it.

...Hi thea, Always nice to hear from you. It would be great not to have to wear glasses all the time. If I decided to have the surgery, I would want to have the patients of the doctor who I would choose to perform the surgery, tell me what the long term effects have been for them. One person doesn't always have the same effect as another, but at least you would have some history. My eyeballs are long, so I don't know if the surgery would even help me. Thanks for your response. Take care.

I have never wanted to, but both of my parents have had the surgery. After some time the eyesight begins to diminish again. You may still need reading glasses, and even with advances in the technology it may be that you end up having more than one procedure. In the end it isn't worth the money. I wouldn't spend several thousand dollars when I can buy contacts for fifteen bucks a box. And I can change my eye color, and if I want to look smart and sexy I can still go back to wearing glasses.

...Hi tawny, Nice to hear from you. Now you are basicaly giving us an almost first hand account of the procedure results. I had just mentioned getting information about the long term effects of the surgery and you come along and answer the question. Thank you very much. The last part of your comment made me laugh. But you are correct in what you say. Sounds like a better way to go than the surgery for you. Take care and thanks again for great information.

I heard about eye surgery. I don't use specs, but my husband uses. I don't think he prefers laser surgery. Laser surgery is very expensive even if you don't have to use specs for the rest of your life. I think that he looks good with specs on. So, I am not concerned about him going for a laser surgery. I don't think specs will look good on a kid.

...Hi daliaj, You give us an interesting perspective on the possibility of laser surgery. I think thst I heard from someone a long time ago, about how much the cost of laser surgery would be. At that time I thought the price was very high. Now I have no idea of the cost, I am sure much more than it was then. Glasses are not that hard to deal with, and you don't have any guarantee that the surgery would be effective even if you did have it. Thanks for your response. Take it easy.

Yes, I would submit myself for a laser surgery to have a good eyesight. That is the reason why the technology was invented. TO help others see clearly the beauty around us which is visible in our sight. Especially for those who have poor eyesight and the drivers who need eye correction. If they will not be cured, accidents may often happen. This is the reason why people enjoy to life more, because they have good eyesight to appreciate all around them.

...Hi Genericbe, You are totally correct about the technology helping people who have eyesight problems. But not everyone is as brave as you would be, to undergo the surgery. As well, people who have bad eyesight should not drive, as they will endanger themselves as well as others. Those with good eyesight have traffic accidents. I for one, would have a slight problem with having my eyes operated on. I would just hope that those who do undergo the surgery, would be very thorough in investigating, the history of the surgeon they choose. Thanks so much for your response. Take care.
