Why do one have pop corn while watching movies?

i think that popcorn just caught on...i mean back to the days when the fair is the local favorite entertaining place popcorn is the easiest to transport and is quite delicious being hot on the spot. with the fair turning to cinemas popcorn's cheapness but tastiness just caught on. it's always on one's list of choices when one is budget conscious. and with the high cost of going to cinemas now, i'd buy it for myself .

I think we have Popcorns while watching movies is because of the fact that we have to sit there for 2 hours without much talking hence to keep it moving we have popcorns.But there are more things such as groundnuts and chips but popcorn is a thing which has no side effects which the other two has so we prefer popcorns most of the time. I earlier used to have chips while watching movies but then came to know that chips had so much cholesterol so then moved to popcorn.

Yeah it is necessary to eat pop corn while watching movie in theater or while at home..it helps during the climax scene and hep us to reducing the emotional touch with the movies

Even I don't know.But I can guess this has become something like a phrase and is used to denote that you are having a wonderful time watching and having some stuff in your mouth that is light i weight.

I think its the easiest think to share and eat. I mean your watching the movie, and all you have to do is stick your hand in the bag and you don't even have to take your eyes off the screen. Simplicity at its best.

Maybe its because its easy to eat while watching a movie. You don't need to see what you are doing when eating it. Just put your hand in the bucket and put it in your mouth. Its just like candy its easy to eat at the movies too.

honestly i dont know.. sometimes i myself eat popcorn when going into a movie house.. but most of the time i prefer chips.. maybe its because popcorn doesnt make any kind of noise when you eat it and its not in a plastic wrapper that sounds irritating to others when you open it.. lol have a nice day.. Hi mrnischalgurung, for me, or a lot of people, it's simple, just make it funny while watching movies, or we don't want to make our mouths idle. Not always pop corn, for me I prefer to sunflower seeds.

I do not actually no the real reason just have some speculation. I think popcorn was served at movies because it is a light food that is mostly hard to get full off of,at least for me, and in movies people can get a little hungry or people are just into the movie and it is something to keep them in realization that it is not real.
