hi friends.no misunderstanding plz.
this is not about scoring Dhoni scoring a ton under pressure from a quality bowling attack with ball swinging and seeming and spinning and bouncing with the dew against him.
nah.
this is about Captain courageous Sakib-ul-hasan.
everyone from the stadium to pitch report to preview show guest host says only one thing.
WIN THE TOSS,FIELD FIRST.
but only one man didnot agree with them and thats the bangladesh captain.
true it didnt work out that well.
the decision may be a little foolish but thats what one has to expect from a very good captain.
you see Dhoni and Sanga were busy giving interviews to newspaper and tv channels about [b]how dew is making the toss the most crucial factor and that matches should start early to negate the dew effect.
did they really have to do it?[/b]
these two teams are fighting with tooth and nail to hold on to the top spot in the ODI ranking.
if a captain can call his team the best team (i.e.) No.1 team,his team has to perform well even the extreme condition.
what if india reach final and have to play a D/N match in mumbai with a lot of dew and lose the toss.start blaming the dew once you lose the match.
this is the practice matches you got before the world cup and not even the news channel is giving a fuss when india lost to srilanka 2 days back so why dont just win the toss ,bat first and prove to the world that your team can defend any target ,against any team under any condition?
whats the use in winning matches in the condition where 8 times out of 10 you will win batting second?
but ofcourse you cant expect that from the captains.they didnt prove it in kotla and they definetely are not going to prove it dhaka either.

I totally agree with you stardustcdsd,
really hats off to to the BANGLA skipper and also its really expected for a national side of any conditions to play off in the most extreme conditions.I think instead of blaming and depending upon factors like toss which are rather luck factors the whole team management must concentrate on CRICKET and the ways to overcome such circumstances like dew and all other factors.

yes .i like the mentality of sakib ul hasan, if it was any other captain he would have chosen to field.bowling in the dew is that much tuff.

I agree with you. A champion team need to win in all conditions. That is the reason it is called a champion team!
If they give excuses on DEW or blame the PITCH. They are only showing that they are not champions.
When Indian players learn to fight every ball, every run, when they understand that it is their mindset and determination to win at all odds that makes them winners and the DEW and PITCH, then only then they can regard themselves as a top team.
Actually, Dhoni told the real problem when he said "Yuvraj singh was the successful bowler and that is not good"
That shows how pathetically Indian bowlers are struggling.

Yes what sakib did was very brave,as in these conditions any captain would have opted to field first but he did try to bat first.But I would like to also tell that their batting is much better than their bowling so they are going with the saying that pose a big total by batting first and let the pressure build on the opposition.But it has been different for the both matches that the oppositions handled the pressure well and won the games.

Shakib-ul-hasan made a brave decision to bat first and it nearly paid off. The indian bowlers were not upto the challenge and bowled like club bowlers in what was suppose to be the best time to bowl. 296 was a very good score batting first, but the bowlers could not defend the total. They started off well though having India 3-50, but from there it went downhill thanks to some great maturity from Dhoni and Kohli.
Yeh your right if you claim to be the world champions you need to prosper in any condition. You should back your team to score more than the opposition. But I must say that the dew does give one team a bit more advantage if they win the toss, even Shakib said it was impossible to bowl last. But even then I feel the toss should not dictate the outcome of the game.
