When do you choose the best responses?

I usually wait a couple of days, when my discussion stops getting new responses I decide which one is the best although sometimes if I find someone wrote something really interesting that I like a lot I just assign the best response to that person. What about you? When do you decide what response is the best?

I usually forget to do this at all :) Honestly many of the times my discussions are about personal opinions and such, so it would be hard to say one person's opinion is better than another person's. But I do make sure and give out + signs to all good responses as well as comment back. I don't remember the last time I gave out a Best Response. I'm not sure I really ge the point of it all.

I can understand your point of view but I don't give the best response to the best way of thinking but to the person who made it interesting, funny or was very helpful. I do it because I am happy when one of my responses become the best response so I want to make other people happy too. It is not necessary to assign the best response, I just enjoy doing it.

You make a good point :) There have been a few times where I got a best response and felt compelled to go through some discussions and give them to others. Spreading the love i guess :-D Perhaps I will start looking at it the way you did - not necessarily the best opinion, but instead the most entertaining, thoughtful or helpful response :)

Oh my, I just looked and I have at least 50 pgs of unresolved discussions (I stopped looking after 50 pages!) I better get to work. And maybe it will benefit me by reminding my friends to come back :)

I too usually do the same thing. Wait till responses stop coming and then decide which one touched the topic more and I mark Best Response. But many of my discussions are still pending to be marked Best Response. I must do it soon.

Since mylot wants us to wait at least a week before we give best response, then I will wait that long and even longer. I have one that I have as yet to give best response, as I have so many good answers, that it is going to be hard to pick just the right one. It would be nicer if we could give more than just one, but since we can only give one, then I want to make sure I do the right thing. I have waited on ths to give the best response, as I just got so busy with all the sites I do, that I just didn't get around to it very fast, but I have since given it. I do like to wait for awhile and make sure that no more are going to respond. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

That's really great idea, sometimes I would like to be able to give more than just one best response too because when you get a lot of good answers it is so difficult to choose. Sometimes I read the posts that I dwell about more than once and I end up sorry for the one I didn't give the best response too. I know it sound silly but sometimes it is really difficult to pick just one.

I have been thinking about this. I started here on Saturday I think and I have decided that every Saturday I will work through any discussions I posted and mark best response. If they have only been up since Wednesday I might leave them till the next week. I have marked one already but it was rather an obscure limited discussion so it seemed unlikely it would get responded to much.
