Well it differs, orkut is a good site according to me. The communities is really good in orkut.

Hi Uttam, well it depends how you use it, you can change your settings to private and only your friends will be able to see your details. It depends how you have configured your profile and it will be displayed accordingly. I feel orkut is a good site, infact because of orkut I have found so many old friends with whom I was not in touch since long and was not having contact information as well. In addition to this there are various communities which you can join to share and gain knowledge on particular topics. The only thing is that Orkut does not pay you for using it while in mylot you get paid for participation and many other social networking sites also pays.
