Do you have some sort of motivation you use to get things done each day? I guess mine is a list. I write a list of all the things I need to get done (not just for today, but for the next few weeks). I put a star by the main two I really need to get done today. I even write down mylot goals for the day! It helps me get things done and realize what I did accomplish too since I mark things off as I complete them. What do you do to help you get organized and get things done?

dear macdingolinger ,
I also make a list everyday as a motivation to remind me of finishing the tasks.
it is a perfect way for me to finish my work. if i don't write it for a day ,i may lose the direcion and don't know what to do next. it seems i am totally depending on it. and the first thing i get up to do is to make the list. in a word ,it's really useful.

I am with you there. I forget things even though I get other things done! It works real well for me to write it all down! ty

Hi mac, that is a great suggestion. i do it when I have many things to be done. io also jot down all the things that needs to be looked into like repair work, paying bills or calling someone etc; etc; it really does help.....It does keep you on your toes and makes you feel happy and satisfied at the end of the day when all your tasks have been accomplished...All the best

Yeah! I hear ya, it helps me not have to store all the "little" things in my brain after I release them onto the paper. It's good too because I find I don't forget as much by writing things down. I write it down whenever I think of it then I will usallyremember it!

I give myself rewards as I go. For example, if I am doing homework and I know I wont like it at all, I will work on it for 20-30 mins or up to a certain problem then take a 5 minute break to play on mylot or facebook. For things like mylot and my weight loss I give myself two weeks to reach a goal and work on it when I can. Both work for me and I haven't had a problem yet! :)

Sounds like you've got a winning plan that works for you! I think that's what it is all about, each of us finding what works for us! I may need to try your reward system as I accomplish things. I get tired when I just work all the time!

I do exactly what you do but not for the week I do it for the day. The most important things are on the top of the list. As I accomplish one task I cross it out. Like you it helps me to get alot of things done in one day. I hate to waste a day without accomplishing anything of importance because then it makes me get down about myself which will then lead to depression.

I think it helps me see exactly what I have accomplished, especially on days when I feel the exact opposite of that! I have my list all together sort of. Like the things I need to do for the day are at the top with stars to prioritize. Then under the daily stuff I write the long term stuff. Then depending on time I work on different projects here and there as I finish daily items.

I do write a checklist for me to accomplish the things I wish to do on a particular day. Yeah, it really helps me to manage my time. However, there are times that I am unable to complete some tasks and I will forward it to the following day.
Right now, what I have been doing to keep me motivated is to reflect all the things or areas that I wish to improve on a weekly basis. I will post it in my blog for my weekly report and see my progress.

Sometimes it really helps to analyze things from a week's view rather than a day at a time. Although a day at a time view is helpful when we can look at a week and see all the accomplishments it shows much more progress.

For me Inspiration to get the things done is there priority and the importance they carry. There may be 4-5 things in the to do list BUT priority of the item will be on top. May be a personal work which is a must might take first place in the list however sometimes it may be more important to give priority to office work. I keep a track of do do things in my mind however I do record my plans and goals for the year. It may be a personal goal or professional goal to achieve and visit my goals in a periodic way.
Again getting things done as per their priority and important gives energy to make aggressive plans/goals and achieve them.

I guess my long term goals I keep on hand are my "yearly" goals. Hopefully I will get them worked through in a year!I do prioritize each day. IF I don't have one particular item that has to be done that day I'll choose one of my others to work on for that day.

to be honest I don't really need any motivation I just take each day as it comes lol,
even with my online business I work till I don't want to do anymore lol, but am in a good position as its my company so no one to tell me I have too lol,
as for household chores I have the usual school ones to do as am a single dad, and the housework gets done as and when it needs to be done lol, usually an hour a day.

My online business is a series of projects. I write. So I have to keep a list of the projects and the most pressing that needs to be done. I usually have about 4 that have to be done right now!It helps me keep going as I see I am accomplishing something!

Yes, when dealing with important things in life. Motivations must be made to accomplish such. It will give you focus on the goals going to pursue. It will give you a clear mind how to deal and be successful in that field you will be about to take.
For me, Discipline is best attitude. I do make planners list as my pattern for my plans to do. Gathering information is helpful to give you many optional ways to accomplish it. Conversation with other people will help you gain thoughts, comments and views. Optimistic approach in life is good for it will reject distractions and negative thought in you that inhibit your plans. Motivating your body and mind will let you concentrate and be determined with your task.
With this kind of ways, given the right attitude and discipline, you will have a way toward accomplishing your plans in life. This will never mislead your plans toward accomplishing any for that matter.

You are correct.IF we do not set goals, we will not accomplish them! It's important as you say to do whatever we need to for us to personally reach those goals!

A list of of some sort is a must for me. Whether it be mental or an actual written list, I always keep track of what needs to be done. Also, these lists can be long term or short term in nature. I have things that have to be done today or within the next couple of days. Those take top priority as well. Then I have several long term things that I work around that schedule. Also it helps to remind myself to get started as soon as possible, as the sooner I get done, then the sooner I will be able to kick back and relax.

I keep a sheet up to date each day or so. I have on it my long term project goals as well as the things I need to get done daily. I used to keep it all mentally, but kept overlooking small items... so now I write it all down!

I make a list too. I prioritize it then, usually just in my mind, but if it is something super important, it gets a star. Few years back some thought I was a perfectionist for doing that, but that is not necessarily a mark of a perfectionist. If I were, my handwriting would be so much neater.
I started making a list after observing a non-Christian, a district manager over me, do that. I that case he made a list of things to do, and put an employee's name, as well as his own, next to each task. He assigned himself and me to go pull weeds. Got poison ivy from it!!!

Poison Ivy? I've had that before it can be rough! What you describe seems pretty much what I do. However, I think I do qualify as a perfectionist. I have terrible handwriting too, but that's not on the list I saw that qualified me asa perfectionist!
