Study. :-)
Funny, I was never nervous about exams. Well almost never. But I was terribly nervous about having to get up and do a presentation. And what helped calm my nerves was to practice the presentation.

Some people never totally get rid of the fear. I remember reading that Barbra Streisand still gets stage fright after all these years. But being prepared makes a huge difference.

Music is best stress buster. to prevent stress turn all your clocks around in your room don't ever look at time you would be late just enjoy the music and read the book like a novel just a reading and don't think or try to recollect the last answer u read cause then one feels that he is forgetting things then one reads again same thing then he looks at time passing and all that. Just keep on reading and eventually u will remember everything if you remain calm and fresh

Dude see when i said listen to music its not another professional advice or anything its not written any where that music helps your release stress. when i say music i mean any kind that gets u in the groove music is best way to express your self some people like hard some like soft like myself i prefer rap specially when i m studying.but of course make sure its not too loud just something in background better than having deep pin drop silence its kinda scary lol.

when i have a 2-3 day exam, i first study the last subject, then I study last for the first subject. i do this because on the last day of the exams, you tend to be tired and stressed, that it will be difficult to study. Then focus on the topics that you know best, after making sure that you already mastered it, that's the time I will study the hard ones. you don't want to consume all your time studying the hard one's then you realized that you don't have enough time to study the easy ones, by this method at least i can make sure i can answer the easier ones.

That is also a good way to study. It's also possible to begin a couple of weeks in advance. That makes you feel good and you will not be tired by the time the exams begin.

hello.I am an Indian student.....i am unsure about your system of exams.in india examinations are really tedious and it takes a toll of your physical and mental set up....my tip to you will be:
while preparing for the exams make yourselves clear that you are going to concentrate on your academics and nothing else.....be really focused..
if you feel that you are really stressed then break up and have 10 to 20 minutes walk or physical exercise....duration of relaxation never matters either it is day time or night...it relaxes your mind and keeps it active....
experts say that if you study for 15 minutes with at most concentration then you are supposed to take 30 minutes of rest....
these are the preventive measures i take when i feel stressed during exams....do not forget
"have plenty of fluids, adequate sleep......work hard to your potentiality and leave the rest to god"never forget"impossible is a word found in a fool's dictionary"

Hi there fellow student!
Honestly, I don't review things up when the exam is near. I don't know. I guess I have this personality of when you review and review a certain subject/item, it would just lead to confusion and you will almost forget that certain item you are reviewing (for me) which is worst. MENTAL BLOCK is the word. What keeps me alive in schooling and keeps me getting high grades is my tough and keen listening + great memory. I just keenly listen to discussions. When exam is near, what I apply are those information that I STILL remember and understand from the previous discussions we have done. I guess that's my personality when it comes to schooling.
I have this worst experience last December 2009. Our teacher on a certain subject got sick and didn't managed to attend our class. She really thought and expected that we have read our lesson that was missed and was not discussed that's why at the moment she got well and managed to enter the class, she conducted a "SURPRISE QUIZ". It was really a surprise because all of us student of her were not prepared of that quiz. Most of my classmates didn't really read the lesson. Most of my classmates FAILED that quiz. Luckily I have read some part of it and managed to answer FEW questions. Even though I passed that Surprise Quiz (having a score of 6 corrects out of 10 items) I still have the feeling of disappointment because of what happened.
Well, being disappointed I just played online games and I think those games have washed away my disappointment.
I guess the best way to prevent stress when it comes to schooling is to keep DEDICATED and to be COOL. Use your own words when taking down notes so that it would be easier for you to understand what you were tackling about. Don't burden your mind with too much studies and reviews. Be free. Be balanced. Be yourself.
Good Luck with studies~

During exams (when i am writing the paper) i dont take stress. Stress taking or not taking is slightly in our hands. I opt to not take stress. I think we can think less clearly when we are under stress so why to take the stress if we can do better when we are cooler. But, Before the exams i take stress because due to that only I get the feeling of completing my course within my prepration leave.

It does happen for me to stress. I know that last year, I failed a class and got D on the others. First, you need to identify the problem. I found out that i procrastinated to much. Doing too much leisure than studying. Then when the exams were about to come, you aren't suppose to study but to review. I am doing a degree in math and it requires alot of practices and reading. Doing those going to class and do the school work during the learning is the best way to learn for me. Reading formulas everytime I am in the bus or subway on my way to school is the best way for me to memorize them instead of trying to memorize them in one shot. There are many tricks for different people. I hope you will find what suits you more.

To prevent stress during and before exams I make sure to practice some healthy habits. I get plenty of sleep, drink plenty of water, eat healthy, and exercise. You'd be surprised how well this works in keeping your stress at bay. I also listen to calming music. I find classical music, celtic music, Enya, and Michelle Tumes to be very helpful. I make sure to find some quiet time after studying so that I can read for fun.

i review my notes before hand. my strategy is that, especially for subjects which have a lot of notes, i review 1st page 1st and absorbing the important notes, before going to the next page. and 15 minutes before the exam, no reading and reviewing already, i allot myself some time to refresh my mind. that way i'm most likely not to get stressed. :)
