Infant Cough

How do you treat your infant's cough? My mother in law boils some herbal leaf and mix this with water, and let my baby drink this for his water .. We also rub some eucalyptus leaf that's been smashed on his back and chest, I used to give mucolytic but after reading that it was not tested for infants below 1 yr, I stopped and sticked to the natural remedies.

Depends on whether it's a dry cough, but this might work either way. My favorite natural remedy is taking my kids in the bathroom with me while I take a nice steamy shower. Usually does the trick. Sometimes we have had to resort to a bedside humidifier and a small towel under the mattress to angle the sleeping area slightly. I have a 2.5 year old and it's worked every time (it can take a few days for it to go away entirely, but at least he sleeps in the meantime).
