I just heard a song I have not heard since I was about 7 years old "may the bird of paradise fly up your nose" by I believe Little Jimmy Dickens, it real brought a smile to my face as we always had it on in the car as kids,I could still remember all the words! other songs that have that nostalgic effect on me are
Bad moon rising
Rock island line
here comes tomorrow
king of the road
Raffertys motor car
Delaneys donkey
To name but a few, what songs get you all nostalgic for car journey of days gone by?
Do you still like em?

I've heard Bad Moon Rising before, but it wasn't really a part of my childhood.
When I was a kid, I listened to Disney songs on tape, a lot. My mom is japanese, so I also had a few tapes of japanese childrens songs which were a HUGE part of my childhood and definitely make me nostalgic whenever I hear them now.
When I hit second grade or so I started getting my own CD's; the Spice Girls, N*SYNC, The Backstreet Boys and such. Those songs also bring back lots of memories, lol.
