If he has friends and family then he is normal. he is just shy and lacks the self confidence to approach girls. You could help him by introducing him to other girls not to enter into a relationship but just so he can slowly develop his self confidence. You can try to let him understand that a guy has to make the first move, girls won't do it unless you are good looking or you are rich. If you just the average joe then you have to do the chasing. He is not alone and I'm sure your friend will eventually overcome his shyness. Cheers!

It's normal, but only to them. For the rest of us we like to date different girls to get a feel of what we are looking for. With some other people, much like yours and my friend, they are very selective and have never dated anyone at all. Only difference is that while your friend is shy, mine is a loud mouth trying to grab all the attention in the room. However, that hasn't got him to far with the ladies. It just takes time for a person to find who they are looking for.

Everyone's different and experances things in a different way. I was ninteen before the concept of having any form of a relationship ever crossed my mind. I'd been around people, but was never atrtracted to anyone, or had any feelings for anybody. Though in my last year of high school, someone was attracted to me. Tried to kiss me all the time. I was repulsed by it actually. I wanted to slap him so bad. When he tried it in the elevator during a fire drill I actually did. Then told the princiapal afterwards too.
However, now I am quite happy with the man I love. so in short, everyone is different.

You really don't know what's happening inside him. He might be wanting and looking for someone all these years.

No, it isn't normal. You should socialize him with other people as much as you can or he will be sad and lonely for the rest of his life. I know it sounds funny, but I know a person who was just like him and he is lonely and because he is lonely, he is sad. Take care and happy mylotting!
