Do you like to drive fast? Or are you a slow driver like me?

I too like you like to drive fast in the highways, medium speed in the cities and slow in the heavy traffic. Otherwise it is difficult for me to control the vehicle besides it is not advisable too and I do not want to take any risk and put others at risk

I tend to drive more on the fast side than on the slow side but try not to break the speed rules (too much). I tend to stick to 10% of the speed limit as I generally know I can get away with that and I've had a full driving licence since 1984 and have never had any penalty points at all of which I'm very proud and I'd genuinely like to keep it this way! I think people who drive too fast and endanger other people's lives are very selfish - if they want to endanger their own lives, so be it, but they should not risk injury to other road users! As for my driving skills, I'm a confident driver and have had my own car for 17 or 18 years and have even attended a defensive driving course - which is a course to help you avoid other people's dangerous driving and spot potential accidents as much as anything else :)

Your response depicts the confident driving in you. I feel happy to read it. I never knew that defensive driving courses will be there. They are so helpful to the drivers as well as the other road users and walkers.

That is why he had many accidents. Had he attended the class, he could have corrected his driving.

Thanks for the BR on this one pal. The Defensive Driving course I attended was something my company organised for company car drivers, this was during the 90s and the insurance company had said if we all attended and passed the course they would be able to reduce the insurance contributions for the following year, which they did. Funnily enough the only person who REFUSED to take part in the course was the person who had the most accidents hahaha!

Hi there Buchi_bulla!
I like driving fast. I used to drag race. I used to be a member of a drag race team here in our city. I still join some competitions from time to time though. On regular days, I would only drive within the speed limits. But when I am on a road trip, I'd probably end up driving faster than usual.
Of course, safety always comes first...

That is good, making slow driving where it is to be followed and take some speed where it can be done. As long as you follow safety, go ahead.

Well, it depends on the situation. There are times that when I am in a hurry, I drive fast not to get late. Most often, I drive at a moderate speed. I have been driving for quite a time already and I know that being a defensive driver is really important most especially that there are a lot of undisciplined drivers out there.

If you are confident about your driving, then taking some speed at times is ok. But some haphazard drivers take up speed. That frightens me.

I like speed but I do not like to drive fast. I always imagine weird things like the tyre coming off and rolling away, etc.

When my husband and I had a car, we did the speed limit. We did not drive so slow as to hold up traffic, but we didn't drive so fast as to endanger our lives, or the lives of those around us either. We just wanted to get there safely. How fast we got there didn't matter to us.

Hello Buchi_bulla. I don't drive, but I don't like to see drivers driving so fast as it is dangerous not only to the driver, but to the pedestrians as well, especially on the streets in cities. I get nervous seeing fast-driving cars and trucks and motor-bikes. If everyone drives more carefully and not so fast, there will surely be fewer accidents from happening. You are a nice driver, Buchi. Take care.

Hai Williamjisir, Happy New Year to you and your family. What you said is 100% correct. I too get scared to see fast drivers.

Hi friend, its around two years ago since i got the license. At the early times i used to drive fast and i like east driving a lot. But now i dont drive in a limit till which i feel i can control the vehicle. But while driving in high way we have to keep a minimum speed to be in the flow of vehicles other wise we may have to get out from the track. Good day friend.

Very well said Abhaijith. In National Highway, we have to keep some speed.
