I can't cook, neither does my girlfriend. But she did try, and it wasn't an easy one for her. During the Christmas eve, she wants go to kitchen and help. She has confidence I guess, because all the ingredient seems to be ready. When the result is not as good as she expected, she getting ready edgy, and she would start screaming at people. Then, she had a fight with her younger sister. I, ending up go out with her to the restaurant for a late night dinner.

oh thats ok parker..learning how to cook is a long process we need to experience negative result to make it perfect like a child learning to ride a bike he/she might fell in the bicycle before totally learning how to drive..just tell your girlfriend to have patience and determination and eventually she can be a really good cook..i can say i can cook but not really good and i learn my cooking skills from my father by just merely observing and one advise that i can tell you to make your recipe good, cook with all your heart im mean put some love in whatever recipe you cook..

I know the man who always say "Wife doesn't have to be a good cook, she just has to know where all the good restaurant are" and he has become my idol since then.
I'm not good and cooking also. But sometimes, when I am in mood, I love to make something for my boyfriend, like some cupcakes, chocolate cakes, pudding or something like that, I even prepare a meal sometimes. It's not always good, just acceptable, but I feel happy by doing something for my loved one, and even happier when I see him eating with full effort lolz
Just eat everything your girl make, even if it's such a disaster, it will make her happy for sure.

No I do not get mad very easily when it comes to cooking if something does not come out right I will try something else. During the holidays we just each bring something for the dinner so noone has to cook it all it works out real well.

Hi Kingparker,
I love cooking and i have all the patience needed when i am in the kitchen. cooking is cool, it's a relaxing activity for me. if i did not get the right taste or something is missing i will not stop looking for what i need to improve or to add on...no screaming or bad mood. it will greatly affect the taste of the food. good mood means good food!

Hi kingparker and welcome to MyLot,,Hope you enjoy this site more than your girl enjoys cooking!! In any case, cooking should be a fun, enjoyable experience and something for you to do together. Getting stressed out gets you no where..Tell her to just laugh at her mistakes and try to learn from them. Maybe she could take a cooking basics class. Believe me, anyone can learn to cook. Its like anything, it takes practice. I've been cooking for 25 years and still learn all the time as well as make mistakes and I graduated from culinary school! She'll get the hang of it and so will you.. Good luck J

One of my co-worker, she is a great cook. She can make those European style pastry so delicious. Someday she would open her own restaurant if she no longer work there. I would ask her to be my master, and pass me some recipe, so I can follow her cooking technique.

I felt that. I couldn't cook myself, more or less, my mom want to teach me the technique of cooking, but I just don't have the heart to do it myself. Maybe I was lazy, and I rather sit in front of the computer than just cook for somebody else.

absolutely nope. hehe, i love cooking. if i screwed up one dish, maybe i'd be frustrated, but not mad. though the dish tastes not good, i'll still eat it as long as it can be eatable, and still be happy. anyway it's the result of hardwork, i can't bear my hardwork wasted, so i just eat it up. even if the dish tastes not good, but think about that it's made by myself, then it tastes better. maybe it's not logical, but it works.

Sometimes I can cook and sometimes I can't.It really depends on what it is,and if I forget I'm cooking. When I forget ,I usually smoke the house out and you would think it's on fire.I remove my smoke alarm when I'm gonna cook, because I usually set it off. It's embarassing neighbors thinking there's a fire here.

I don't remember ever getting mad while cooking, but I really enjoy playing around in the kitchen. I've always told my kids when I taught them to cook, that cooking is alot like chemistry. You mix specific ingredients for a desired result..and some of the best things I have made ended up being because something went wrong and we had to improvise or alter a recipe. Most cooks can turn a mistake into something edible..so I tend to agree..she knew what she was doing..and it worked.
You ended up taking her out..every good cook knows how to pull that off once in awhile too.

No, I do not get mad when easily when it comes to cooking. It's common in siblings to change tasks but not to the point having an argue. Do tasks by appointment per day or when will be your time to cook is the best solution. I hope your relationship will be solved. Anyway, time will come you will be having your own life. Good relationship will give good memories as well.

Aha,certainly not.I really love cooking .When I have the chance ,I never leave it off.I would be very happy when I am cooking. And I don't like eat out any more. Some food I eat in restaurant is so terrible.I think anything I cooked is the most delicious but I never ask others' opinion. I guess they would like it ,too.I am confident about this. And I hope that I can be a cook and run a restaurant one day.
