What is rented referrals in PTC?

Hello, mylotters.:-)
Just recently I accepted invites from friends memeber of PTC sites. I'm just giving some a try and I kind of enjoying it, because I can cashout money instantly. However, I am not still adept to the system of PTC and there are so many things that I don't know. One is RENTED REFERRALS. What is this? And how this differs to direct referrals?

Direct referrals are people who registered under you and will be permanently on your downline. If you want more people under you, you can rent referrals. You pay the site and you will be provided unreferred users to be your downline. This lasts usually for a month. So whatever they earn gets credited to you.
