We know that there are lots of internet chatting providers which offering from texting chatting until video chatting nowadays. Some people however still like the conventional chatting service such as mIRC, or only texting chat with YM or MSN although the last two also offering video chat for us. I still prefer to use texting chat since it seems simple and we can easily do it with less bandwidth. Just like on facebook chat, however facebook still keep using texting chat so far. Perhaps they will add video chat in the future but i think it won't be in near time. So, what kind of internet chatting that you like to enjoy mostly? Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Well i always like the traditional way of chatting by typing. i feel very comfortable and also very enjoyable to do that way. i think there is some fun in typing and then getting the replies back. plus the thing is video chatting can be a bit block to the privacy. i mean if some one can see you then it is not always a comfortable to chat. you can chat by typing and do something side by side and no one will ever realize that. this is not possible in video chat :P

I agree with you. Texting chat is the most famous and very simple. No matter what is the provider you use, either YM or MSN, both of them are strongly focused on texting chat. I also thinking that that's why people can easily like texting chat because sending sms is also something common nowadays. That's why people are very familiar with texting chat. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I use MSN or yahoo messenger to chat. I chat via text or voice only very rearely I video chat. Text chat is convenient as you can just leave some offline messages sometimes if the person is not online. Yeh as you said it consumes less bandwith which is always handy.

I think all people however will still loving text chat since it's simple and convenience to telling someone about our feeling without having to worry about that person can see our face. I think it's just like sms services from our mobile phone providers. Some people will feel confident when using text chat rather than voice or video chat. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

i mainly use msn for my chat, have used the web cam a few times. but only with people i have gotten to know, a bit better before hand. give a better feel if you can see a person face when talking to them. then you can read their reactions better, to your messages.

I've experienced such thing before. When i chatting with someone, on YM at that time, we used so many emoticons to expressing happiness, laugh, sad or even cry. But i also saw on his web cam. I didn't see any real expression such as laughing etc. So i think people also can easily give fake expression while chatting with text. But i think it also can representing the real feelings of them. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I think skype is really helpful for simple purposes of voip technology. Such technology is very important since the voice call is still the priority in human communication method. But of course we also need good internet bandwidth in order to have high quality of voip service. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

VoIP is now the rage these days. Although I don't approve of programs like Vonage that utilize VoIP as a substitute for a land line, but programs like Skype and Oovoo have really changed the game on how we communicate now a days.

I think VoIP is one of the most influence technology for nowadays communication services. We can save much money for using voice chat to other people in all around this world. But of course we need to have stable and fast internet bandwidth for the optimum voice quality. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

Hey, dianmelydia!
Actually I'm not a big fan of internet chatting, but with simple communication with friends and relatives I like using Skype. It's very simple, fast and comfortable for me. Facebook chat I'm using rarely, only when needed person is offline in skype. I now that most of people in USA prefers MSN instead of Skype. Don't know why, I find Skype well designed and more comfortable. Thank you for excellent topic for discussion, have a great time today!

It's true that IRC can bring us easily to many kind of cultures and languages. We can easily join and leave it if we think it's not interesting, and no one will get angry with it since there's alot of channels and people we can chat with. Do you using all those chatting services for chat with same people only or you have different contact on each messenger? Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I prefer to have the text chatting because meanwhile I can do something else. I don't want to waste the time on chatting only. I am not interested in the voice or video chatting because you have to focus on it. You hardly do other things.
I love China
