What actors portray what you consider 'manly attributes'?

Name the actor and the part they played that personify what you consider good 'manly attributes.'
I like Bruce Willis, as John McClane from Die Hard. No, he's not pretty, and he's hard to get along with, but he'd go to all sorts of extremes to protect his family or innocents. You gotta admire that.
Or Chuck Connors, from The Rifleman, as a tough guy trying to get away from his past and make a life for his son.
Morgan Freeman, from Batman and others, when he portrays men of honor. Quiet, unassuming, get the job done, do what's right.
In real life, it would be Jeffrey Dean Morgan. He's so considerate of animals and willing to take in strays. He's kind with a big heart.
Johnny Depp. A family man, doesn't let stardom go to his head, patient with his fans.
How about you? Who do you admire and think they're 'manly', in or out of movies. And why?

I would say Clint Eastwood because he is very much old school traditional. There’s that obvious macho side to him, the tough guy with a certain amount of menace about him. But then there is also a tender side to him, that deep layer of caring which is hidden away.

Quite right. Like in Gran Torino, which I have yet to see. He was quite good as an actor, but even better as a director. As a director, he brings nuances to things that others don't see.

I would agree about Clint Eastwood. I've also seen a few of his films that he directed and the guy is very talented in that area. Very nice man.
Also, I finally got to see "Tumbledown" that a very young Colin Firth appeared in, on telly a couple of weeks ago. I can well understand why he was so good in "The King's Speech" as he had to pretend he had a brain injury in "Tumbledown" that I didn't know about until I started watching it. Apparently, he's dying to play a "baddie" in films lol.

I am really partial to Johnny Depp. I like how he tries to lay low just to be with his kids. And simply because I love his movies.

I like that about him too. I hate that so many actors use their kids for publicity. They seem to forget that they're supposed to protect the kids, not use them. I always admire the ones who put the kids first. (We are not talking about the Brad/Angelina way)

He's a good one. From which movies? Do you like him as Indiana Jones or the president? Isn't he an agent in something too?

hi snowcap three years later for me it would always be John Wayne and Harrison Ford. John in all his movies was a real manly
man as was Harrison Ford as Hans solo and as Indy Jones.

I liked Han Solo when I was a kid, but Indy is the one I adore as an adult. Somehow the bad boys aren't as fun anymore!

Elvis was & is still my heart throb. Hvaen't had anybody since him that i felt the way i do about him. Watched a special on him last night on what would have been his 75th birthday. He's still the best looking thing i ever saw.

It's funny, but I've only seen one movie with him. I watched Flaming Star. I thought that was such a good film, but so very sad. Mostly I wind up catching the end 15 minutes of films he's in. Like I just saw the end of Kid Galahad, then later I caught the end of something else he was in. I didn't even see enough of it to get the name.

As much as i liked him or i should say loved him i really didn't care for his movies that much. I could have set & watched him sing for days if i'd ever had the chance.I watched 2 of his concerts last night & they were wonderful.
