Why do People Lie ? Is it diplomacy in other words or just mere dishonesty. Does one cheat by telling lies or does he decieves himself by doing so ?!!

telling a lie has a varied reason and in seriousness depends on how and when and for what the person told a lie...sometimes just to defend someone for better reason..its ok..but when it comes in between the serious things like relations between husband and wife or a children saying lie, due to getting in bad habits..etc then it is to be taken seriously...definitely most of the times the person thinks that he/she is right superficially..but from inner morals and valus he knows that he is wrong while telling it..just there is a need to push that person and bring him back to right things....

Children often tell lies. Children begin to tell lies to get out of trouble or to get something they want. As a parent, the most important message you can give to your children about lying is that you always want them to come clean with you. No matter how big a trouble is and whatever they want, remind them that you would always rather hear the truth, no matter how bad it is, than be deceived. Yes the reason I love mylot is because there are always people around like you to say what is right and diffrentiate the wrong...

Well, born as a human... we all lie. I dont believe non of us in this world never lie before. It is something have to add up with your life style. If you are too honestly then you will not be trust by someone...
Lying doesn't mean it is the right thing to do but it is just something has to do when he/she doesn't know what to say next.
If you are talking about cheating... then it is different, a cheat is something you pretend to do. sometimes, he can't find his way out so it could be something he has to do at the moment. but if you find out and he still not admit it then he is not a good person to be around with

There certainly are a group of people like you say, for example, cheaters, who lie a lot - and knowingly - for personal gain. These people have a disease called "anti-social personality disorder"
