is there any knowledge by watching TV?

hi friends, by watching TV how many of you gained knowledge and how many of you thinks it was waste,in my view by watching TV we have both advantages as well as dis advantages it depends on the utilization of the people,the advantages are as we knows many things by watching TV like life,how to live,total world,etc.the dis advantages are now a days many news channels are taking some crime watches i don't know why they are taking that and in that they shows that how a boy murdered a girl and how a boy raped a girl and it affects on kids and other people and i don't know why the government are not banning those programs i request the government to just stop those activities.

knowledge acquired through watching tv has its advantages and disadvantages. advantages is that it allow you to have essential news and information with regards to the things that are happening in the entire world. While its disadvantages is that children are opt to be exposed in the morbid things that happens in the real world. On the other hand if you are always on the side of your child and you are watching tv with your family then i think thee is nothing for you to worry since you can explain things to your children in a way that they can better understand it. After all they also have the right to know the things that are happening around them.

Yeah in tv you can also increase your knowledge by watching discovery channel and Animal planet they tell you about the different culture environment and also the educate you know abt the country tradition and famous people

Hi ! bharadwaz I belive rather than watching the crime series one can cultivate the habbit of watching the shows on discovery and similar channels which have positive content and they are knowledgeable so happy watching

It all depends on what types of shows you watch.. I think I have learned A LOT of information from television.. There is much knowledge to be learned that can be done via the Television.

hi bharadwaz, Certainly, there are lessons and valuable information that we can get on television. But that is depends on what shows we acquire it and get knowledge from. It is not new that some television program runs explicit shows and violent documentaries or news. But as a tele-viewer we must be cautious on what kind of shows to watch, since most of violent news/shows has "parental guidance" advice we should not let our kids or younger siblings watch it. Or we have the option to explain to them the matter extensively, what it is all about, its negative effects and what to do about it.
