Do Wars Depress You?

Regardless of your political or religious beliefs (or even if you don't believe in either) don't you find that wars are a bit depressing? I was born in 1966 and I don't think there has been one year since my birth where there hasn't been a war raging, somewhere in the world. This is a sorry state of affairs in my opinion. Why can't people just get along with one another and why are so many wars raged where there is nothing but rocks for miles around? What are they actually fighting over? I do support the troops in those situations, that goes without saying but John Lennon wouldn't know where to start with his "Peace" message if he ever came back from the dead.
Another point to consider is that (besides the military) there would be many people out of work if they weren't making ammunition, guns, bombs and special vehicles. I once went out with a guy who worked in a lorry/van factory which had to "diversify" into military vehicles as demand for the former dropped alarmingly due to competition from abroad. I once asked him what the factory built and he refused saying that he'd signed the Official Secrets Act! I often wonder what would happen if there were no wars going on...he'd probably be out of work, along with many others.

It makes me sad and very angry at the same time! I fell like you why can't we just all get along? I was born in 1964. I was born on D.DAY and I have no idea what that is. I asked my dad and he said you were born on Dummy Day L.O.L. Then he said just kidding!I support our troops in every way too and I think it is so sad!And on another note when it comes to Mexico I really get so angry because Mexico did used to be a part of United States and why are they always picking on them? They come here to earn money for their families and make a decent and honest living! hey don't come here to make any kind of threats like we have seen too many of from other Countries! It is ridiculous! I say open the border to Mexico let's all have a Fiesta and a Margarita and a Siesta! I know they are not here to do no harm to no one because my husband is from Mexico!!!

That's okay I don't mind. Is it very cold in the U.K.? I was working in a call center and we got to take calls form the U.K. all the time and I really enjoyed talking to the people there they seemed so friendly! I miss it but they shut down my job in September They said until further notice. I just don't believe they will ever reopen! I worked for them so long and they kept moving and changing names. I figured I am not going to sit here and wait for them. I am trying to find a much better job now! Even though I miss my old job and all co-workers and friends there there is always time to move on. The part I didn't like was I was on dtraight commission but I sure do miss the big checks!

I agree with you. My stomach turns whenever an image of the latest soldier to die appears on the television news. The latest casualties (along with an Afghan soldier and American US marine) were a British newspaper journalist and his cameraman..although the cameraman is alive. Journalists are so brave in every conflict but without them we wouldn't receive the information we do. All very sad.

Greetings Janey1966 .
They do not depress, but often sadden me. Sometimes some anger is aroused in me when there is apparently no true cause.
Except for activating in mankind a long range plan of God, all wars are futile. Like, what will it matter 500 years from now. Ok, let's make that 1,000.
The good news is when Messiah returns all war shall cease until He concludes a 1,000 year reign.
