When was the last time you just went a way for a weekend or a long weekend?

I have an habit of going on a vacation twice in a year, once with my friends and once with my family. I believe you have to balance both of them in your life as it is the common thread around which the life revolves.

We went awy is september for a weekend,we had been married sixteen years.My son has stayed over night once or twice a year with his older sister when he was little.We went out for a meal.My son went on a school trip for a week three years ago but we did nothing as my husband went to work.It was awful as there was no house work or clearing up to do.The place was just to quiet.We always go away several times a year in our caravan with our son.It was not heard of when my other two were young to go away without them was unthinkable.My older kids used to go away with my parents for a week every year.But my then husband and I worked all the time they were away.In those days we could hardly afford to take them away let alone go away on our own.We did enjoy are weekend away it was wonderful.I really hope you go somewhere nice for your anniversary.

If you count non holiday travel, it would have to be October. Holiday travel we went away for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Travel to visit at holidays is no vacation, so we stress a little more for those.

Does going to the Bible camp for a week of family camp count? If not, then I've not gotten to go anywhere for YEARS! We are planning a trip to Dodge City for a couple of nights at the end of April. I hope it goes through and we do get to go. I'm working at trying to make enough money to go somewhere, but you can tell from my posts that I am a long ways from it. Marsha

I don't take a lot of weekend trips. I either take day trips, or I'm gone for at least a week. The last time I remember just going away for the weekend was when I went to my cousin's wedding. It was in the mountains. It was a lot of fun. My family rented a cabin for the weekend. Friday night we were there was for the rehearsal dinner. Then the next day was the wedding and reception was a whole day event. But then we spent Sunday visiting the area, hiking, photographing waterfalls, and really just enjoying ourselves!
